Re: Canon Camera Repair
I can only suggest Bangkok, which is where I take Nikons that need attention. There are no camera specialists in HH as far as I know, just shiny shops in malls that want to sell you more stuff. Lens faults are usually too expensive to bother fixing also unless its under warranty and can go back to t...

Re: Agoda hotel descriptions/prices warning
We know Agoda listings can be dodgy at times, but Booking.com may be just as bad ... Man left £7,000 in debt after arriving in Thailand to find hotel didn't exist A British holidaymaker found himself £7,000 in debt after arriving in Thailand to discover the hotel he had booked didn't exist. Yep, the Thai authorities and nationalists, who claim sole rights to these marvels of modern fashion, flapped when cheaper elephant pants from China started flooding the markets.

Re: Free weekend travel on new motorway to Kanchanaburi
This won't help those living in Hua Hin or south who have to battle with Highway 4, then the dreaded 323. Had a few days up there recently and went on back roads for the entire trip not touching either of these roads once. The 3510 is a fantastic stretch of road running parallel to Petchkasem from K...

According to finance permanent secretary Lavaron Sangsnit, impor...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?
I think there is some confusion about traffic police and highway police ... Different departments in the Thai police. Neither of which do any active patrolling or dangerous driving prevention to make the roads safer, so not sure what your point is, there is no confusion. Irrespective of what depart...

Well of course, but that's probably how they see it, not how it *should* be.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 11:49 am I’m not sure I’d agree that it’s not their job, but like so many things out here, there’s no accountability

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?
The traffic cops here do not patrol or police the roads to make them safer as they do in most countries; they lurk under trees at roadblocks, nabbing passers-by for easy money. This is why they'll ignore obvious traffic violations as it isn't their job to give a shit about dangerous driving; they're...

Like the comments about the cameras ..."The cameras always work when they have to prosecute the 3-finger salute or the establishment protestors, but when it comes to prosecuting those breaking the law every day, these cameras don’t work."

Prachuap finally drag themselves out of the bottom three, though its pretty tight down there and may come down to goal difference. How many games to go, seven?

Re: Doctors warn of hot summer heatstrokes
It is hotter for longer this particular year due to El Niño, but I've seen it even hotter here in previous years. Age and tolerance definitely are factors; its a lot easier to deal with in your twenties!

A bit of research and we're back in business with ReVanced. It uses YouTube version 19-09-37 which now works with no ads and with the ability to background play.

4,500 baht per year is more than double what most of these annual internet SIMs cost. Will see if we can extend the AIS one on the same package (15Mb/100GB).

Re: Menu/food prices rising in Thailand
Imported foods in Thailand were massively overpriced to begin with due to the taxes/duties so yes, they're only going one way (and I know it is happening in other countries).
