Re: What are the TV service options in Hua Hin.

This morning teatimetv was free as usual. But now... :( Hmm, I see they are reintroducing catch-up, but I can't find any information about what channels they are offering? If it's just the same as the free service, then I won't be signing up, but seems daft to try to sell a service and then not pro...

Re: UK Retirees to face cuts in Pensions

I think the moral argument is well and truly won.

But Government of whatever creed isn't really interested in the argument. They just don't want to pay out and as it stands, the law is on their side.

Re: Rubbish disposal in Hua Hin

I know the plant you're talking about. I used to live nearby. I don't think you're allowed to dump there. It's only for council bin lorries. Plus, I believe they are in the process of moving it altogether, although it seems to be taking forever. No, where you mean is right on the corner before you ...

Re: Europe travel

In my younger days, I did 30 days around continental Europe on the trains, it was a brilliant experience although I wouldn't do it now as extreme as we did it then, sight seeing in the day and sleeping on trains through the night! I did the same thing myself Steve, in the inter railing days, even w...

Re: Europe travel

If you want to travel by rail, you could cover most of the major cities in Northern Europe in two weeks but I would consider avoiding London as it's a bit out on a limb. You could do something like Paris, Brussels, Amsterdamn, Hamburg, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Zurich. But you won't see hardly anythi...

Re: Europe travel

It would take 2 weeks to just do those two cities! Two of my favourites. Use Eurotunnel for travel between the two. To avoid lots of travel, as you say, go somewhere else nearby. Perhaps north to somewhere like Amsterdam, or somewhere in Switzerland. Or head North from London to Edinburgh. Another g...

Interesting responses. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/penalties-for-social-security-fraud-and-error/penalties-policy-in-respect-of-social-security-fraud-and-error State pension fraud is not a sanctionable offence. That means it cannot be stopped or reduced because an offence has been com...

However, if you don't acknowledge that you are living permanently in Thailand - which is not dishonest, because what is 'permanent' and events might make you wish to return.. - and if asked directly, state that you are currently enjoying an extended holiday, again being careful with words, but not ...

Re: 2018 Football World Cup News and Prediction Tournament

I look at the poll up there and my gut is telling me it's going to be some dark horse, maybe a team not even on the poll. :D Pete  I don't know who will win it and haven't voted. But I think Spain have been the standout team for me and on another day would have beaten Portugal comfo...

Re: 2018 Football World Cup News and Prediction Tournament

I thought we played really well, okay it dried up a bit in the 2nd half, but we were by far the better side, as we should have been. I have no idea why Walker had to raise his hands to concede the penalty, by his own admission, he should have just headed it away. But we have to take chances at this ...

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Denmark had just made a deal as the first in the world. Interesting, but a little different to the article we were discussing which talked of airbnb actually collecting taxes. Still, good luck to the Danes for getting some agreement from Airbnb and restricting the number of nights a property can ac...

Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18

I just checked AA Bkk to KK for November and flights are available (1000B return!). So I think there might be a variety of reasons that details don't show yet. As a new route, they want to be certain it's going to be a profitable before releasing more flights, or at least consider the schedule, if s...
