Re: Seeking land and worker for aquaculture business

I have just completed my 3rd legal review on my business proposal and it's all legal and above board so now that it is again a proven concept and progressing very quickly. What does that actually mean? Who completed the review - a Thai lawyer here in Thailand? I assume not, as you are asking for an...

Re: Six found dead at Grand Hyatt hotel in Bangkok

I'm certainly not looking for a conspiracy theory, I'm used to debunking them! It's just such a bizarre affair, and our understanding has been a little hampered, I suspect, by translation. It's as much about making sense of what happened and in what order, and why? I've always been fascinated by suc...

I paid under B7k for it two years ago, it would be even less now, if they still sell it?

Re: Google Maps

I was amused at Caller's statement that "When I come to do a u-turn, I am always prepared to go right or left to complete that, especially on major roads, where you are just as likely to go over or under the main road." I wonder how you do that when you're in the far right lane of a four ...

Re: Google Maps

When I read some comments on here, I sometimes feel like I exist in a parallel universe . I am a self-confessed technophobe, but things generally, just seem to work! Yes, on google, I am told to go south or north, whatever, but I also get (usually) a little blue line and arrow pointing me in t...

Re: Seeking land and worker for aquaculture business

To be honest, you're not making a lot of sense. Have you actually visited Thailand before or coming for the first time? I suggest you get here first before making any grand plans.

Re: Bangkok Post to be delisted from the SET

running an independent news outlet in Thailand isn't really viable - unless it's a state mouthpiece which, IMO, the BKP has become. Yes, I agree wih that, one of the main owners of the BP is the family that own the Central Group, so not short of cash and it was announced a little while ago that Wis...

I have to go to Bkk hospital in the morning. I'll ask if they are still doing them.

Re: Bangkok Post to be delisted from the SET

I think the Thai Enquirer has basically given up. Apart from it's useful daily news update in PDF style format (included in Pete's daily update), it only really comes up with a couple of articles a week. Before, it was pretty cutting stuff, constantly challenging the status quo and was a go to read ...

Re: Six found dead at Grand Hyatt hotel in Bangkok

I think youre right BB, although more updates have now been provided. Apparently they were toghether to see if they could reach an out of court settlement to halt a pending court case to do with an investment in Japan. Although, I would have thought lawyers might have had a better chance at that? Ap...

Re: Six found dead at Grand Hyatt hotel in Bangkok

Well, if a suspected murder scene is meant to be left untouched and as there are no cups on the dining table, it appears that after being poisoned, at least 5 of the victims present placed their poisoned cups neatly on the table by the flasks. If the poison was meant to be more lethal than cyanide, ...

I'll add that CHARTCHAI PARASUK gives some good insight into the economy here. https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/columnist/3764/chartchai-parasuk Yes, he would be the one I would miss. So many of his predictions from months in advance actually happen. Only yesterday, I was reading about Thailands...

Re: Six found dead at Grand Hyatt hotel in Bangkok

Interesting report. So are we to assume the others in the room were owed money by the poisoner? And where did the flasks come from? Did the poisoner travel with them, or purchase them in Thailand, as we are told no-one else entered the room once the group were all present. The Thai police seemed to ...

Re: Southgate Resigns/Who Will Replace

Last time I looked the FA said they wouldn't restrict themselves to any nationality. That they simply want the best man for the job. As for Potter, that is a complete and absolute non-starter. Rose up the ranks steadily, did a good job at Brighton, who have done even better since he left and was so ...

Re: Euros 2024

The coming home thing is contextually, a form of irony. And irony is a very particular style of British humour, not often understood by others. In the coming home example, it means we are cheering for something that we know is pretty unlikely to happen - based on 58 years of evidence - it boils down...
