Re: Premier League 2024-25
“How has it eluded us”? Quite simple - you’ve changed managers more often than most bar girls change their knickers, so the new manager has no time to get his team playing as a cohesive unit!! But we've been doing that ever since Abramovich took over in 2003(?). So many seasons where we had two man...

Re: Premier League 2024-25
Over the years, Chelsea have shown to be the most impatient team striving for success - probably the reason why it’s eluded them!! How has it eluded us? The bigger question is if the two sporting directors (why two?) are advising the board, then questions need asking aboout them. Because they have ...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
I am sure the rain is spread around. Where I am in Thap Tai, the rain started yesterday at 13.37 and finished sometime after 18.30, when it was much lighter and I decided to pull the curtains. Sometime after that it stopped.

Re: Thai household debt deeper than ever
According to Chartchai Parasuk, who writes for the BP, these figures are not the true figures, just the ones that massage the figures. Data collected by the agency responsible for monitoring debt, can't think of it's name off the top of my head, puts the NPL figure as much higher. He usually quotes ...

Re: Hua Hin Speed Cameras
I'm just back from my daily trip to Khao Tao. That entire stretch of central reservation has absolutely nowhere for somebody to hide/cover from the sun. No self-respecting Thai, let alone police officer would spend that long standing in the sunshine. Could it have maybe been a camera car? Were all ...

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi
I often get up and walk about when on a plane, it relieves the aches and pains of not being able to afford business class! I do as well, but buckle up when seated. I miss the old jumbos, where you could have a really good walk around the plane, and you would always find a couple of like minded soul...

What a terrible story. I hope he makes a full recovery. I hope he has insurance!

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi
Very sad news. News is still sketchy, The beeb said the plane tilted upwards before a massive drop, when those not belted up went into the ceiling of the cabin.

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Continuously reasonably heavy rain here at the traffic light end of 112. Seems to have brought the flying whatevers out, much to the delight of the toad family that call my garden home.

Re: Climate change could force Thailand to move its capital
It's quite funny really, because as you travel the route of the original road, you catch glimpses of the partially built motorway when travelling through Khai Yai. And there is a long elevated section along route 362, that then disppears into the distance when the road veers north to meet highway 2....

Re: The 90 Day Report Thread
Useful info Pitsch, thanks. I have 2/3 trips abroad planned, so looks like I will be reacquainting myself with Bluport immigration in the coming months. Luckily it's very local to me. Meanwhile, I have just had my online application approved within 24 hours. Sent yesterday @10.50 and received back t...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
We got wet in Thap Tai for a couple of hours late afternoon, not heavy, just steady, and as I drove the length of 102 and back, the rain was at both ends!

Re: Climate change could force Thailand to move its capital
It would probably move to Korat. It's on a very high plateau with zero risk of sinking. Part of the new motorway to Korat that they are building by hand, very slowly, concrete slab, by concrete slab, is finally open, but only from/to Pak Chong (to Korat) and the high speed rail is taking shape, well...
