Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport

Bluport just don't do annual extensions.

Re: Extension of Visa Exemption Extension

I'm not sure whether Bluport can do it but they should be able to get another 7 days. Technically, that won't be an extension but rather they'll be given 7 days grace to leave the country. Obviously, it amounts to the same thing. I believe they'll just need to show the same docs and photocopies as t...

Re: IKTS 2018/2019

Yes, losing a banker is bad news especially if everyone else has secured theirs. But sometimes you've just got to gamble especially if one of the x3 teams are at home. Last season, I lost count of the number of times I woke up and checked my scores. "-10, -10 -30 (banker) etc etc. Nearly had a heart...

Re: Chinese tourists (and their habits) surge into Thailand

Gosh, as an old, white person who's lived here for 20 years and has been married to a Thai for longer than I care to remember, it's nice that I'm appreciated and can't get any red carpet treatment.
C'est la vie.

Re: PEA Announcements

It's good that you've posted that information as we live within that area and my wife informed me the other day that power was going off on the 16th and 23rd only. She didn't mention the 9th so we'll have to check the leaflet she was given. I'm sure the above is correct. I walk around the area quite...

Re: Car Boot Sale, Market Village

I'm definitely keeping that quiet from my wife. She'd probably be down there like a shot although a saving grace is that since she's had a smart phone she does most of her shopping/second hand goods buying through the internet.
Thinking about it for a second it's still Thai females/shopping/bargains.

I'm going for my hat trick but I'm sure there will be plenty of people trying their best to ensure that doesn't happen.

Re: Movies on DVD

No subtitles. I reckon that's the point of the film during the first half. If he can't really understand what's going on, then neither are we supposed to. However, he's not actually discussing astrophysics with the prison population. Their taunts, their threats and so on are pretty easy to get even ...

Re: Movies on DVD

Saw a review of "A Prayer Before Dawn" in the Guardian yesterday. It's another "real story" of a Brit getting banged up in The Big Tiger and his move into Muay Thai whilst there. I just though "yeah, another one" but it was reviewed well and after finding the download on Pirate Bay, I watched it yes...

Re: Certified Translations

Fair comments. I've mentioned a certified translation to my pension provider and they seem happy with that.
If they are not then hopefully I won't keel over any time soon and can get a notarised one.

Certified Translations

I know this topic has come up before but I'd just like to check where people would suggest I get some official Thai documents translated into English. These are for my wife's birth and our marriage certificates. I just need to get them off to the pension company so she's covered for her widow's pens...

Re: 2018 Football World Cup News and Prediction Tournament

BB, having just got back from the UK, it seemed to me that a lot of potential fans were put off going to Russia because of perceived football violence and political turmoil.
As said, that's just a general feeling I got from watching the news and so on rather than basing it on football punditry.
