Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

I find that a rather suspect reason. Around 11 years ago and for just one year, the marriage extension was proved by having the 400K in a Thai bank or by having family income of 40K a month. In other words, a Thai wife's income could be included. If my wife earned 30K a month, I only had to show 10K...

Good luck, BB. And you don't smoke!!

None.
They're here to promote business between the two countries. Nothing more, nothing less.

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

LOMU - the ability of using ones marriage to a Thai for the annual extension seems preferable now, with the financial requirement being 50% less. Can you advise what the requirements immigration require over and above what we have been providing? For once, I think that Euro's post is actually decen...

Re: Green Baht Bus prices

Starting off in Khao Takieb, it costs 10 THB to get to the crossroads at the night market. After that, and on the same songthaew, it costs another 10 THB to go all the way up to the airport and back to the night market. At the night market, you change songthaew and pay 10 THB to go down to KT. That'...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

An embassy cannot certify income from work or rented house or condo. Only official retirement money can be certified. All other documents are forged and maybe this is a good thing to reduce all those swindlers. Rubbish. I've satisfied the British Embassy and Imm for the past 11 years with rental in...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

I see, BB. The combination method which has always been available but the income side has had to be accompanied by an Emb letter. So, deposit 500K and you need to show income of 300K divided by 12 or 25K a month - with Emb letter. And I don't think that's what the Emb are referring to. I read it tha...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

Thanks. It's not very clear but doesn't seem to me to indicate transfers of 65K+ will be accepted as income. If you're referring to point 4, I think that just refers to savings again with the 800K having to be in the bank for 3 months in the first year and 60 days thereafter (which is back to front ...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

I've looked back through the posts and am not sure which link you're referring to, BB. AFAIA, the option of transferring 65K/40K to a Thai bank account every month has never been an option before to prove income. Imm wanted Embassy letters and that was that. I've not seen that option quoted anywhere...

Re: Extending 30 day Visa on Arrival stamp

You need at least 15 days left on your permission to stay to apply for a Non Imm O visa in country. As suggested above, your friend will have to qualify for one (retirement, marriage, taking care of a Thai child) and meet the financial requirements as well. That's step 1 and if he/she wants to exten...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

Dannie Boy, I was being hateful about the lazy sods at the Embassy - true. Their change of location will not have been their decision but unless income letters or their equivalents around the world have been done away with, then that has been their local decision and that impacts on me and many othe...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

Have Imm changed the law or is it just The British Embassy who have again shown their true colours by cutting back their services to their nationals? Until I read further, I reckon it's the latter. It's just a willful disregard by the embassy twats. However, I do agree with you T.O.M that the outcom...

Re: British Embassy Bangkok to stop Certification of Income Letters

Wrong. It's 800K THB in a Thai bank account or 65K overseas income (12x65 = 780K). I'm splitting hairs, I know, but those are the rules. Until now, there has been no need to show that 65K THB a month has been transferred into a Thai bank every month. The only requirement has been that the applicant ...
