Its pretty nice in town at the moment, slowly warming up for summer (as Bamboo says April/May is HOT). The rest of Thailand has had recent unseasonal rain (Chonburi was on BBC world the other day!) with a months fall in 24 hours. Hua Hin as usual has missed it all and remained dry.

I don't think 'compulsory' is the word, theres no law against it as far as I'm aware. However it is a definate no-no in Thailand to be semi-naked in public. It has only recently become accepted on the beach. I think ignorance and lack of respect applies to tourists who would dress like this in a ban...

It was still open at 05.00 saturday night so I guess its reputation as a 'late night spot' is justified. No girls yet though.

Never personally stayed there but from what I hear its not bad. Located about half a km south of town in Hua Hin Grand Plaza, they have a good market there in the evenings and on weekends. Their website is here:

New Venue

A new late night drinking spot will be opening next week down Poolsuk Road (next to the Sand Inn Hotel). I'll post more details when I have them but hopefully it will be somewhere you can go for a late game of pool, drink, or whatever else as there's a lounge and pool room upstairs.

There is plenty to see and do around here, Pala-U waterfall, Khao takiab (monkey mountain). Southern beaches of Suan son and Khao tao. Sam roi Yod National Park further south. Hua Hin also ...
