Re: sky sports sexism

I do not think it is correct that a corporation sacks somebody for airing views in private. Had he known his remarks were being made public then that is a different matter

Re: Tax on a UK Company Pension

I'm not in a similar situation, but I'm also non-resident for the UK and I understand that there's a scheme by which you can move the pension into certain recognised offshore schemes and then handle your own tax in the country that you're living in. I'm no expert on this but have a look at QROPS. Y...

Re: GBP vs THB

The improvement in Sterling is all to do with the fact that inflation is going up in the UK and 'opinion' is quite strongly forecasting a rise in interest rates around June. The foreign exchange markets have taken this somewhat into account and hence the improved sterling/bhat exchange rate Sorry I...

Re: British Embassy Hua Hin Representative

I am sorry but you are still wrong about the requirements because you do not need original documents. Copies of passport front page, 3 months bank accounts showing pension payments and copy documentation from the pension providers confirming the amounts on the bank statements. All this information ...

Re: Riding a bike

The canal road out past Palm Hills is a pretty easy ride as well. I would personally avoid Canal Road and particularly in early morning/evening rush hour, when there are so many motor bikes that driving a car needs particular care. I see a number of cyclists going along Nong Plub road to the bypass...

Re: Beer Lao Dark now in Hua Hin

I guess you have to buy a s**tload of the stuff to get delivery from Nongkhai. Maybe several bar/restaurant owners could go together and have a big truckload brought down from there to see if it sells. It reminds me of the college days in Michigan. Anyone heading west of the rocky mountain...

Re: Beer Lao Dark now in Hua Hin

Who says it cannot be sold in Thailand or is this just guess work ?

Surely their is at least one enterprising bar owner who can place an order and see what happens

Re: Beer Lao Dark now in Hua Hin

If Beer Lao is so good why is it not available at wholesalers, because there is no import duty between the two countries, and so the price should be very competitive?

If some bar owners put their mind to this that could well have a significant turnover and hence profit.

Re: Furniture Repairer?

Go down soi 58 from the klong rd, last small shop on the right before the railway, there is an upholsterer there, maybe he can help. Used him a few months ago, and he did a brilliant job re-covering my furniture at Thai prices. Maybe he can do the repairs you are after, or has a contact can help yo...
