Re: Photo trip report: Chiang Mai to Pai

Great pictures! I spent time in a small town east of Chang Mai called San Kamphaeng. It was very friendly and laid back. I stayed with Thai friends for 10 days, sorry it was long ago and I didn't get any good pictures, as I only had a film camera that was acting up. I remember a hot springs near by ...

Married vs Single

Which is better, Being single wishing you were married, or Married wishing you were single? I have a friend in his 60s who never married, and he says being single and wishing is better because you are used to your lifestyle choice, and maybe someday it can still change. Being Married and wishing you...

Re: G'day from chilly Melbourne, australia

Joyvee I enjoyed your message, and am wondering Just how chilly does Melbourne get? Where I live in Canada it is -10c today and I think it is chilly, although some long time residents think -10c and colder is actually cold and colder. If you want another place to stay that is on the water, there is ...

Re: Soi 94 - More changes

Great to hear that Soi 94 is getting more developed. It used to be pretty peaceful walking up that soi from the main drag. I am still likely to stay at the south end of HH when I visit, so nicde to see more places to eat and drink at near by.

Re: Hua Hin Area Photo Thread

If you want to see an interesting museum in Bangkok, here is a picture of it. I went to it with a relative so I can not tell you the location, but I think it is in the SW of Bangkok, and might be called the Erawan museum. Anyway if you HH or CA folks are in Bangkok and have not seen it, it was a nic...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

It sounds like I missed a nice cool spell, and likely when I get there in March the place will be roasting again. Any pictures or videos of the Thais walking around all dressed in coats etc, during this cool weather? I only experienced cold weather in San Kamphaeng near Chang Mai in Dec about 1997 g...

Re: Phra Nakhon Khiri (Khao Wang), Petchaburi

Great pictures Big Boy, glad you were able to walk all that area and back without a major monkey attack. I was there with Thai relatives and one monkey grabbed the purse from my niece. I threw my water bottle at the little thief, and luck for us the monkey dropped the purse and got my bottle. Our ca...

Re: Whats up with the breakfast scene here? Any suggestions?

Hey HHCanuck, good to read your post. I used to get spoiled by eating a lot of breakfasts at Gifs Kitchen on soi 94, but they have closed now, and I think they have moved from Hua Hin. There was another small café on soi 90 I think it was, and I had a few good meals there too. it is next to a bar wi...

Re: Greek style house, good or bad idea?

Not sure what a Greek style house looks like. During my visit a few years ago I took pics of these 2 houses, or mansions, or whatever they can be called. They are located somewhere at the south end of Hua Hin City up the hill near a wat. Maybe back of soi 102 or so, does anybody know the address for...

Re: Hi, some newbie advice needed

Lots of places to rent in Hua Hin, apartments condos or houses. I rented a room at Sport Villa a few years ago and that worked out not to bad for a month or so. It is in the south tho and is a bit of a walk almost anywhere. I later managed to rent a condo, or townhouse unit on soi 94 that was back o...

Re: Voyager probe 'leaves Solar System'

Now in Interstellar space, headed for somewhere in the Oort cloud. Maybe in another 1000 years we will have enough technology to construct a space ship or travelling space station that can travel through our solar system and out into another part of our Milkyway Galaxy. I guess it depends on our mor...
