Re: New Thai Passport Office, Petchaburi
I'm fairly sure this says there is a Thai Passport Office opening in Petchaburi (if one of the Thai speakers tells me otherwise, apologies, and I'll take the post down). 106119561_1426466207525470_4925110668522442047_o.jpg It does Big Boy, 2nd floor of Robinsons Lifestyle, on the right before Big C...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
I know myself and BB have commented. However, I'll throw the question out to the forum. Does anyone know of someone having COVID or do you know someone who in turn knows of a case? Just curious. Sadly and thankfully just ONE, my old boss here in Cha-am / Hua in. An Aussie hotelier who sadly perishe...

Re: Monkeys in Hua Hin Neighborhoods?
Not just Hua Hin. One in our village in Central Cha-am last week, certainly startled the birds and our cats. Then proceeded to make his way across the balconies to the end of the village, never to be seen since.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Have to say the pick-up in business since the soft reopening last Monday has been staggering despite all the restrictive regulation and guidelines. Yes, the rates and promotions have very much been designed to put 'bums on seats', or in beds, in the nicest possible way, but we are looking at 80%+ oc...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/Updates - Hua Hin
More than 30 years here now and it's typical Thai mentality. Work's just the same: When the going gets tough, the tough get going and things turn out far better than expected. When it's quiet, might as well not ask anyone to do anything, especially think ahead. Caller, Big Boy, touch of 'job's done'...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Presumably Caller, this one: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30388121 Assume this was the inward/return flight of the weekly EVA flight to London that leaves Bangkok each Sunday. Thanks, very interesting. Both legs of such flights have distance seating, so numbers travelling are limited and mas...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Is this the repatriation flight via Eva Air that you are talking about, that landed the other day with 250 passengers, from LHR? If so, passengers temperature was tested before, during and after the flight and there was safe seating on board. The next flight (Thai air) is on the 30th. They will onl...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
If they weren't added to the cases yet, it was probably nothing more sinister than a common cold, but if Covid, it should raise its head within the 14 day state quarantine. Worry is, working in tourism, if there are persistent 'imported' cases, even from repatriation flights, the flight ban is goin...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Has there been any news or further mention of the 9 returnees from UK (EVA flight) with 'high fever' or was it fake news? I doubt it was fake news, in fact I seem to remember a spike of about 7 who returned from the UK proving positive recently. Whatever, they will be held in quarantine for 14 days...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/Updates - Hua Hin
My daughter's boss is still paying his staff, albeit 50% of wages. He's not a hotel, just restaurant. DTHH, is Petchaburi still on an alcohol sales ban? Since about 8th May have been able to buy it during regular licensing hours for home consumption only, just we always lag a little behind Prachuap...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/Updates - Hua Hin
Yes, but who will actually re-open? Hua Hin has a lot of rooms. Outside of weekend Bangkokians, where is the clientele? Staff wages, electricity, water, etc., etc. Will it be cost effective for many to re-open? The hotel where I work have generously been paying all rank&file staff full salaries...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/Updates - Hua Hin
A few weeks ago I went on a motorcycle trip to Ao Manao but when trying to enter the are was blocked off in both ends, both south and north entrances. Has anyone been there lately to check if the area /beach is again opened up for access? YNWA Until the end of May or 'until the situation improves. ...

Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
I was specifically looking for repatriation of Thais back to Thailand. I know there are flights out of Thailand repatriating other foreigners back home. I wasn't aware that these flights were allowing Thais to use them on their journey into Thailand to pick up foreigners. Google wrong???!! What is ...
