Re: Tourist Slump Continues
Talking of slow recovery, the convention and meeting bookings are usually at least a year in advance and this part of the business is very sensitive to govt advisories. Hotel people tell me that the next 12 months looks very bad for this business.

Whippet opened very recently, that's why I posted considering it to be news. What is the time limit, beyond which it is not considered to be news?

Re: Restaurant News
Whippet inn is a good addition to soi 80. COLIN,Ex Sinatras, runs a good kitchen. Nice and airy, unlike most of the little shoe boxes on 80. Comfortable chairs, multiple overhead fans, bar girl free.

Re: Thai people's awareness of others
My company had a minibus going to pattaya for a two day meeting there, but the first day was free so we were looking forward to getting to our 5 star hotel. 8. Re: Thai people's awareness of others
I used the 'late' thing to my advantage. I used to have to go to long committee meetings where nothing was decided. I would turn up for the 10am meeting at 9.55, wait till 10.01, then say to the secretary-- oh the meeting must be cancelled and leave.

You need to try China, where the whole concept of a queue is not understood
I don't think Thai is any worse than any other place. Last year, I traveled on the London tube and the behaviour was barbaric compared to BTS & MRT
