Re: Hua Hin as model for traffic management in the provinces

It sounds like there's a new road that I'm not aware of. Could you confirm that we're talking about the same Tesco - the one next door to the new water park. Turn right? Is that a legitimate move? I have seen the occasional car going that way, but have chuckled assumed TIT. I'd seen the roundabout ...

Re: Hua Hin as model for traffic management in the provinces

The Road Planner's Revenge Is it just the long weekend, or is this new traffic management system crashing and burning before it starts? I went to the market the other side of the flyover this afternoon - the manoeuvre to get there is almost suicidal. We stopped off at the little Tesco on the way, a...

Re: Car Wash

I've only ever used 1 place, they've always done a cracking job so I've never 'shopped around'. I pay 200 baht and depending on work load takes around 1 hour. There's no cafe near it though so its either a lift back or a boring wait.

Re: new bar on 112??!!

Aussie Bar - opposite side to 7/11, about 200m further west. Electric Mango - heading west on 112 turn left at the Cheap Charlie resort/housing project turning, after the Great Wall of Hua Hin (Mahasamutr project), a few metres before ZabWer Restaurant or... turn left before The Great Wall, toward B...

Re: new bar on 112??!!

There is another new bar on 112, roughly opposite Mr Mon's restaurant, called Aussie Bar. Not been in yet but will try to in the next week.

edit. name could be Aussie Pub, not bar

Saw this on facebook today. Not really on 112, over towards Black Lotus/Greenscape on the Banyan golf course road.

Regarding the 'carrying passport at all times' situation...soon I will be applying for my 1 year extension (O-visa, married to a Thai) do immigration hold your passport for any length of time during the application process?

Re: Timeshare/fractional ownership?

Black Lotus off soi 112 has fractional ownership (which I assume is just timeshare), they are the only place I know off and I don't have any details, sorry.

Re: Mini golf

I did a quick search on the internet and an archive site and only found mention of mini-golf on soi 116/1, no idea what year or if its still going. I agree with you Pete, a friend of mine thought about doing this but was worried about initial cost out-lay and earning potential. He believed it might ...

I would like a defender, preferably central position, to be captain. Someone like Terry Butcher springs to mind, 'do or die' type player but not sure we really have any of those anymore...

Re: Elephant Treking

I recently visited Hua Hin Safari, there is lots of elephants for riding, they go around the local area, so up and down hills, there is a river in the area but I don't know if they go through it. Be warned though, its an expensive place. To see all the shows (elephant, snake and crocodile) its over ...
