Horizon

In case not noticed in this past week's issue, this coming Thursday (Dec.8) issue of the Bangkok Post, Horizon section will have a complete write-up on Hua Hin. Will be interesting to see what they say. I haven't posted in awhile and all there is to report from this side of the gulf is that high sea...

I have a few theories about a possible HH tourist boom. 1. Water shortages in Pattaya are serious and the media has spread this fact all over the world. This alone will put off some of this year's visitors. 2. Phuket still scares people concerning possible tsunamis. 3. Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya ar...

Perhaps I am playing russian roulette but I haven't had anything except a tetanus booster since my first stay here 1970-73. Then, the US armed forces gave typhoid, plague, yellow fever, cholera etc. No hepatitus vaccine back then but they did give you something called a GG shot (gama globin?) which ...

Re: The new Bangkok airport

....Suvarnabhumi I have heard that the King suggested this name and I mean no disrespect if true. No one is going to remember how to pronounce it or spell it. It will become "Bangkok Airport" or "SB Airport" or worst of all possibilities "SUV Airport". I know it's Thai...

Confusing to some. In most of the world soccer is football. American football I believe has it's roots in rugby. I also think American baseball has it's roots in cricket? Australian rules football has it's roots I have no idea but I enjoy watching it. Pete

It's not bad now but wait until high season when all the hotels start to pump. That is, if there is water and a high season at all. Recent tests have shown that the water off Jomtien beach is now much worse than Pattaya bay. Go figure. Pete

Finally I can say something good about Pattaya in that there are no jellyfish at all. Not even around the outer islands from my experience. Good thing too or the local punters would be trying to date them? LOL. Pete

I hate to see this. Seeing the age of most of the items for sale Glo, as well as a pet being involved, it doesn't appear to have been your plan to leave here so soon. It's none of my business but perhaps if you're willing to tell us the where's and why for's of what happened and why you're leaving, ...

Let me start with a little story. Over here in Pattaya we have what are called "bandit septic tank pumpers". They prey on unsuspecting people, usually those who have just moved into a house where the tank does not even need pumping (they have a trick dip stick). When we moved into this one...

Every Sunday in the Bangkok Post, Outlook Section is an article about stray dogs in Thailand and those people/organizations who care for them.
