Hua Hin calling the 'upper class'

From the Post ... As the rains let up and the weather becomes pleasant and cool, the urge to head off for a trip gets stronger. Some people think of going North, but that takes a lot of careful planning: Which province, how many days, where to stay, what to eat, how much to spend, and so on. But th...

Re: Waves are up!

Yes, you can get good breaks there at this time of year however the north end of the bay is populated by mussel farmers so not suitable for swimming/surfing/boardriding. The entire beach is engulfed during these months, here are some shots I took last year: http://bangsaphanguide.com/forum/viewtopic...

Re: Botnets/zombie computers

99% of computer infections are caused by human action such as clicking a poisonous link, opening a dodgy attachment, or downloading a malicious files disguised as something else. If you have a solid firewall and anti-virus combo with a good malware scanner and you are not click-happy then you should...

Re: Bangkok lawyer imperative in house purchase?

One recommendation though is not to take a lawyer from the town where you're going to buy as they are involved in the local property business. :agree: In towns like this one the lawyers are entrenched with the land office also so any business makes both of them a tidy packet and leaves the client s...

Re: Hua Hin Bike Week 2010

Dates make sense, its a Friday and Saturday and the Sunday is HMK's birthday - thanks for the update.

Yes, the lack of English language promotion for these events is staggering in a town that thrives on tourism but as rightly pointed out above they don't seem to give a flying fck about aliens here.

Re: The Digital Surgery

If you're using Maxnet/3BB they've been having problems lately with their mail servers again so its probably that.

If not try using a different SMTP server or calling the ISP, 99% of the time mail sending errors are the fault of the ISP.

Re: Hua Hin to Samui

The Lomprayah bus/boat trip is probably the easiest (though it will take all day). Get the bus in HH at 08.30, get into Chumphon at 12.00, depart on the cat at 13,00 which then goes to Tao, Pha-ngan and finally Samui at about 17.00. More info here: http://lomprayah.com/E/route.htm If you want to dri...

Re: tai chi

The reason that prices are not listed is that the Tai Chi instructor is not always available and they offer packages tailored to the individual therefore the price will be a personal thing - there is no set fee for what they offer. The whole purpose of a contact form is for potential customers to ge...

Terrible news, as mentioned Ann would go out of her way to help out, she was a rock for us following Allen's untimely demise a couple of months ago.

Rest well Ann, you'll never be forgotten.

Never thought of avocados ... didn't think they were that popular with the locals! Mushrooms are currently the produce of choice, been doing a bit of research and it seems that there are two types that are relatively easy to cultivate providing you can get the spores.
