Re: Fish and Chips
Scraps in West London too when I was growing up, 5p a bag. When I think about my early teenage years I have a strong recollection of chip shops and girls, and it reminds me of Space Invaders and fish. I associate chippy's with Space Invaders 8) I see on the recently vacated Bar Tender spot one of th...

Re: DSI nabs Swiss theft suspect (Hua Hin)
Newspaper section: News The DSI was examining the suspect's background, he said, adding Mr Enzo appeared to have planned his escape to Thailand well I beg to differ... the green design on the front of his shirt makes him instantly recognizable imo. If only he had chosen more nondescript attire he c...

Re: House Buying Method.
The Commonwealth has land ownership restrictions that are very similar to those of Thailand. And then the people who "sold" their land to foreign buyers started to sue; questioning the bona fides of the original transactions. And, they started winning. The courts voided sales that were st...

Re: Selling House after Death of Wife?
Super Joe A question for you, if you don't mind. If Mother in law dies without a will, does property pass to only child or is it shared out amongst those in Chapter11 and Chapter 111? Thanks Yes, an only child would inherit 100% if there was no surviving married spouse. And nor was there any surviv...

Re: Selling House after Death of Wife?
My Thai wife and I just built a house in her village, estimated cost 1.2 million THB. In case of her untimely death (Lawd forbid), I want to sell the house and retrieve my cost. She wants the house to be passed on to her sons, two of which work and live in Bangkok and one still in school, not of ag...

Re: The Android Thread
The one thing that is really annoying me is every time you touch the screen, a blue line is tracking where your finger has been, or if you tap the screen, a blue cross appears. Can somebody please tell me how to stop this happening? Don't know that actual model BB but on the S3 it's something like....

Re: Best internet service provider in HH
I've been using both 3BB's 13Mbps service and True's 15Mbps fibre-optic carry on for a good while now and can't fault either one to be honest. Same goes for service, downtime/reliability etc. Think they're similarly priced too, a few hundred Baht in it I think. 3BB's speedtest results to local Asia ...

Re: Late Opening Restaurants
There is an excellent Thai restaurant on the right hand side of Phetkasem Road near the Palace that is open very late at night and until the early hours of the morning that is really rather good. It's an open fronted place with a display of fresh produce at the entrance which is frequented by the B...

Re: Looking for an HD camcorder
Hi Dan, We've got one of these kicking around somewhere that was probably used for about 2 hours at most. Think it cost about 15k so half price would seem a fair price to me. Got a feeling it's missing the lens cap unless I can find it in the drawers. Would be interested in your camera if you wanted...

Re: Venice comes to Hua Hin
Just to remain authentic they should be sure to have five cruise ships dock nearby all at the same time Gonna be a bit tricky that one Arc... Hua Hin's 'Venice-by-the-sea' is actually on the mountain 'side' of the Petchakasem   To be fair to the place 'if' it ends up anything like the...

Re: New Songthaew Service
It has been running for at least a few weeks, though doesn't seem to have received any publicity. It also looks as though it circulates in both directions, and is similarly 10 baht unlimited distance. I don't know whether it goes any further north of Chomsin. I'd never heard of it 'til the other da...

Re: house tax back pay
Ok so if I'm understanding this right only those that rent the place out or have it in a company name (or live in Hua Hin) are eligible for this tax? Not private home owners? Owner-occupied properties are exempt from it as far as I know, the wording under the tax act for exemptions includes: "...
