Re: Tiger's career could now be over
All this talk about Tiger's career being over was a bit premature! Was a mighty impressive win last week and he will win more majors. Whether it is 1 or 6 remains to be seen but I'm sure he has plenty of desire to prove everyone wrong! Only a player of his talent could change his swing and start win...

Re: Malasian grass seeds (broad leaf grass)
Do you mean cow grass? Normally you just buy sod from a garden centre - they will order it for you and go get it from BKK and deliver it to you. Not sure if it is easily seeded? You either sprig it or sod it. Sodding it will give you a good lawn within a few weeks as long as you keep it wet for the ...

Re: band for hire
Talking about good singers - I saw videos on youtube of David Glasper (lead singer of Breathe back in the 80's) performing in Hua Hin. Does anyone know if he still stays in Hua Hin and does he perform live anywhere? He is a great singer and had some big hits back then, but sort of vanished off the s...

Re: Golf courses & training
Go and see John Wither. Jorgen at Black Mountain, is away just now. Make sure you get your lessons at Banyan, so you can hit off the grass, and you can also learn to chip and putt on their practise green. If you can learn to chip, then it will give you a better understanding of how you actually shou...

Re: Golf Memberships
Very interesting to read all the comments on golf memberships. Some from people new to Hua Hin and others like myself, that have been here for a long time. I have been in town for 18 years and watched all the golf courses open up and get busier and busier and also Hua Hin expand at an alarming rate....

Re: Golf Memberships
I believe if you are a member at Banyan then you have the choice to walk. Not sure if their low season rate of 1500 baht includes a buggy or not. I think it doesn't, but not sure if you have the choice to ride or walk? Black Mountain, Palm Hills and Majestic all insist on one cart per golfer, but th...

Re: Golf Memberships
Sunandfun - there is a gym at Springfield. It is joined on to the member's lounge. It isn't very big but has running machines, ski machine, free weights and a couple of those big balls. The member's lounge has 2 free computers, free coffee and magazines. It is a very nice little area and Tukta can b...

Re: Golf Memberships
Yes, sunandfun, the Springfield lifetime for 330 000 baht is the best deal by far. If ever you want to sell it on again, you will have no problem. Springfield has been much better maintained the last couple of years and they have the most friendly staff. They have the only useful marshall in "S...

Re: Golf Memberships
Well 800 000 baht might seem like good value to some but will still be by far the most expensive in Hua Hin with by far the most expensive annual fee. Add on to that the cost of your caddy fees and tips and carts if you use them. Members at Banyan can walk - they have a few caddies that are happy to...

Re: Golf Memberships
According to the Banyan website, they are not selling memberships yet. You have to be a property owner. If you buy one of their condos, you have to pay 400 000 baht to join. I heard a year ago that they were wanting to sell to the public for 800 000 baht, but since it's not on their web site, then p...
