From what I've been reading the new Commander of Immigration is dead set on eliminating both. I wish him luck.

Re: New retirement visa rule - show 800k every 3 months

I think the title "every 3 months" is misleading. The directive just says 3 months after extension.

As I read it, the intent is not to burn retirees, rather to shut down the sketchy brokers with their fake income paper schemes.

Re: New Police Order for Visa Extensions

Just read a new order on another site. As of 1 Mar 2019, you must have 800k in your account 3 months after the retirement visa was extended.

It stated the intent was to put visa brokers out of business.

65k monthly income is still okay.

For a retirement visa, where could the money possibly come from, if not from abroad?

I have to agree about Mai Pen Rai. But it has it's down falls. Nobody cares if they do their job right, like builders for instance. I've seen many balconies have fallen on new construction simply because there was no supporting/reinforcing steel used. Or is the mechanic gets the repair on your vehic...

^^ "Letters showing income from outside Thailand are not acceptable" Quote Isn't that exactly what the bank letter is confirming? I think the big change here is, that immigration now wants to see proof of the money is actually transferred to Thailand, unlike before with the income letter ...

Re: New Police Order for Visa Extensions

The new order is on the immigration web site, but only in Thai. I printed it and showed it to the head of Pathum Thani immigration. She agreed that her clerk was wrong. There are 2 options. 1. 800k in a Thai bank for 3 months. You need a letter from the bank stating such. 2. Deposits in a Thai bank ...

Re: New Retirement Visa Income Rules?

I'm not sure you will see any as, in principle at least, there have been no change to the rules. You have always been required to show an income of 65k/40k or a bank deposit of 800k/400k. The only difference is that some embassies will not issue 'income letters' any more. Which according to the con...

New Retirement Visa Income Rules?

Anyone seen an Official Copy of the new rules yet?

We went to Immigration in Pathum Thani today and were informed they were still doing things the same way as last year.

I do my 90 day on the 1st, so will ask again.
