Rayong City is the capital of Rayong Province, the next one east after Chonburi. It's about 80 km away of Pattaya. After Rayong comes Chanthaburi, Trat then the Cambodian border. Pete

Rayong is an option as well. Some international schools there and plenty of ocean and islands and shopping outlets. You're also away from the glitz and bad influence of Pattaya. Only disadvantage may be the lack of other expats to socialize with. Foreign population there is pretty thin. Pete

I agree and hope Mike does decide to return. His posts have been very informative for residents and potential visitors as well and he replies quickly. If someone sees him, buy him a drink for me also and tell him this 55 year old says 48 is still a baby...lol. Pete

Does anyone know if a Thai cell phone set up for international roaming works in Cambodia? I.E. does Cambodia have signal towers? Thanks. Pete

I don't think you would have any problem in Pattaya either BG. I've talked to friends here with daughters and nothing. I think there has been so much publicity here about brokers supplying young boys to middle age/old foreign men that everyone is on the lookout and that is good, until someone innoce...

There's a small cafe here in Jomtien where I eat my English breakfasts named Jeeds that is advertising Jaergermister. I was going to try it but now I guess I won't LOL. When I used to visit the UK I enjoyed Bass and Harp. Has anyone seen these over here? Pete

Yep, I was sitting at the beach here in Pattaya yesterday afternoon and evening watching the thunderheads build up over you guys across the gulf. Quite a lightning show, the best I've seen in quite awhile. Pete

I agree with some of what you say which brings up another thread associated with this one and I would really like to know if others on here have experienced this in Hua Hin or elsewhere in Thailand? I have an 8 year old Thai stepson here. On many occasions when his Mother is busy with other things, ...

I wonder how recent that article is? I have friends on other Thai forums who say they are already in circulation for quite some time but people save them and you don't get them in your change often? Pete

In case no one noticed, it closed for the weekend at 40.0 per USD and 50.21 per Euro. I hope it stays there but 50 per USD would be nice once again...LOL. Pete

Re: Crime in Hua Hin

....... Pattaya (which must be the closest to hell you can get on earth). And you arrived at this conclusion after 2 visits? Indeed what a seasoned and knowledgeable traveler you are. Violent crime is lower in Pattaya than many places in Thailand due to a large presence of police and tourist police...
