Retirement visa question

I am currently on an ED visa which is due to expire on the 1st of April. As I am now 50 I would like to change this to a retirement visa, I also have to go back to the UK next month and I intend not to get a re-entry permit but instead come back in with another 30 days from the 16th of March. I unde...

Re: Wildlife killings at Kuiburi National Park

. Nick, we're planning on going early next week. Is it signposted from the main road? How long did the drive take? Do you have anything else that might help such as GPS co-ordinates? Mrs BB has been in touch with the park, and has been told the guided tours are from 2pm. Was this your experience?[/...

Re: Wildlife killings at Kuiburi National Park

I also have the number of one of the guides who was very happy to give it to us so anyone we knew could contact her if they had trouble getting through on the number I posted above.

I won't post it but would happily PM it to anyone interested.

Re: The life of the elephants

Unfortunately elephant abuse is rife in Thailand and the authorities do nothing about it. I have posted about this abuse a number of times and personally do everything I can to dissuade anyone from visiting elephant shows or rides. Thailand like most Asian countries think only of the money to be ma...

Re: Wildlife killings at Kuiburi National Park

I finally managed to go see the animals on Sunday this week and a thoroughly enjoyable day it was to. The wife managed to contact them after weeks of trying and ascertain it was open so off we set, very easy to find and well signposted from Petkasem road the road was also surprisingly good once you ...

Re: Elephant Treking

Yes, all I can see on the internet is that it is due to re-open in June or July but nothing to say that it actually has.

Will keep trying to see if I can find out.

Re: Elephant Treking

Has anyone been to see them in the park at Kui Buri?

I have family coming over and they also want to see the elephants but I don't want to show them tortured captive ones would prefer to see them in the wild and wondered if this was a good option.

Re: QUIZ at JWs

Hi JW, can any one turn up and join in? I'm sort of thinking that a team of 1 (and the one being of dubious intelligence) might not be a lot of good.

Re: Snakes in the garden

The pattern on the back looks very much similar to malayan viper, and the fact that it doesn't go away when approached is pretty much confirming it. Was the head "arrow shaped"? Yes it was arrow shaped but I didn't get that close after treading on it. Called the security guy who "deal...

Re: Indian Restaurants

We ate at the Indian at the top of soi 80 last Saturday and I have to say I was quite impressed. I guess reading some of the views on here had lowered my expectations but thought the food and the service was very good and will go again for sure. Can't beat a good Ruby and a few beers on a Saturday a...

Re: Snakes in the garden

I trod on this as I was about to open my house doors this evening not sure what it is but it didn't react much when I trod on it. The missus is in a right panic now though.
