Re: Bread maker needed.

If you dont have any luck VS, then maybe some pushing and pulling on the dough will be a theraputic alternative? - I usually make mine that way and find it quite relaxing (and you can always think of some of your favourite bloggers as you kneed the dough!!!). A 1kg bag of bread flour is enough for ...

Re: Facebook

Like you Pete, I was invited by many friends to get on it. I did, but rarely use it. I look at it from time to time and mainly it's the kids posting on it. As mentioned careful of the privacy issue, Facebook doesn't seem to help you to remain private, so assume everything you post, set up, will be v...

The wife and her mom make it often here. In Thailand they buy tea that comes in a red can. Can't give you the name.

Re: One month in HH, how to get connected?

If one of your mobiles is an Android or HP PalmOS phone you can buy a Thai prepaid SIM and purchase an unlimited Internet package which costs around thb 650 per month. Then activate WiFi Hotspot on that phone. Any WiFi device can now connect to that phone. Your Galaxy Tab 3G might have this feature...

Re: USA Old Age Pension

I believe you're right Pete, no direct deposits into foreign banks. Medicare, the medical insurance portion, I believe is also useless outside the states. I haven't heard of any proposed changes to overseas residents, but with the problems here, it wouldn't surprise me. Most of the talk I hear has b...

Re: Changing UK Sterling at BHK Airport - Pros & Cons

We change enough at the airport for the first few days. My wife is Thai and has family in BKK so they know places that have a better rates. With a few days cash we don't feel we loose much yet have a time to acclimatize.

Re: Bangkok Bank account emptied

I agree that it's too much a coincidence, but back in 1996 I opened an account with a large bank in the northeast USA.
