Re: Property developer corruption in Hua Hin
Is 'chanote' here being used as a blanket term for title deed? The surprising majority of well-known foreign developments in Hua Hin are on Nor Sor Sam Kor title deed, not chanote. I can only think of 2 or 3 large foreign developments that are ongoing and have chanote title deed. Too bad the OP can'...

Re: What do do with Western Clothes
Could look up the Jungle Aid charity on Google or FB, I am sure they are willing to accept donations of any kind. If clothes of no use to the villages they support, they may know how to sell them or use them in other ways.

Weekly acoustic jam session at Ssshhh Bar soi 102
Hi, if any musicians or music fans would like to come along, every Sunday from 4pm we are having an acoustic jam session at Ssshhh bar on soi 102. The Ssshhh Facebook page has the location and more information. It's informal, fun, and a good place to meet like minded people. Last week we had (at one...

Re: Unidentified man crushed by express train in Hua Hin
I was told that it is written in a local FB group that it was a well-mannered boy in his late teens who was beaten virtually to death by an individual or group who then dumped him on the tracks as a means of disposing of the body. It's people from the road by the train tracks connecting soi 102 and ...

Re: Getting dual citizenship and transfering land ownership
It is possible to write into the land lease agreement that the land can be transferred freehold to a Thai at anytime and that if Thai law changes allowing foreigners to own land that you have paid in full for the land and can have it transferred to you (expect costs in both cases). Use a good lawyer...

Re: Getting dual citizenship and transfering land ownership
Good call. Permanent residency doesn't allow you to own land. I've personally never met (or heard of) a foreigner that has come here and recieved citizenship, and only met 2 people in over 12 years who have obtained PR status. Interesting you mention there is 1 forum member with PR status...out of h...

Re: Getting dual citizenship and transfering land ownership
I searched the threads but could not find an answer. If it has already been covered I apologize and please direct me to the thread. If we buy a villa from a property developer or company and stay in Thailand for the 3+ years to be eligible for and get citizenship can we then get the land portion tu...

Re: Discount for new property projects
No wonder, selling a 6M property the agent get at least 240k, which is a huge money compares to their average income and low living cost, once a deal is made, they can sustain their living for a year... 1) Unlikely the selling agent gets to pocket the commission unless they are solo freelancers - i...
