Re: Why do expats settle for horrible relationships with Thai girls who hate them?

The OP must be a sad person who has a very slanted outlook on life. He would probably fail in a relationship with any woman (or man if females scare him so much), regardless of Nationality. I feel quite sad for him, but don't understand why he feels he needs to tar everybody else with his brush. a ...

Why do many expats not bother to learn to read?

Isn't it humiliating to be illiterate in your senior years?

Re: Pizza in Hua Hin

LOL - if somebody put that in front of me, I'd get up and walk out. Different people, different tastes, but that is not my personal taste. I wouldn't! I'd wolf that down! I'll have to check that place out next time I'm there. My favourite pizza in Thailand - to date - is the Diavola pizza served by...

Re: Pizza in Hua Hin

Its all down to personal preference. To me, any pizza with a thin crust is like eating the topping off burnt cardboard. However, I accept and respect that others prefer a very thin, crispy crust, and can't stand the thick doughy stodge that is my preference. Where as you would score it 9/10, if its...

Re: Pizza in Hua Hin

Pizza Garden on 94 makes fairly authentic Napolitana pizza. As a former napolitana pizza chef I think I'm qualified to say. There have been times when the pizza comes out disappointingly underseasoned (when the owner is not around for QC) or unblistered (oven not hot enough) but 9/10 the pizza is gr...

Re: Why do some farang not wear motorcycle helmets?

See this thread: http://www.huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=28935 That doesn't seem to be relevant. I'm not interested in why Thai youth think wearing a helmet is uncool (but wearing a 711 packet on the head in the rain is totally fine). I'm interested in the farang who know that a helmet ...

Re: Your best eating places in Hua Hin

The only place I regularly eat for more than B40 is S&S Indian on 94. This, and Pizza Garden (on 94 too) are IMO the best restaurants in Hua Hin. As a former napolitana pizza chef I can attest that PG pizzas are pretty damn authentic (when the owner is in)

Why do some farang not wear motorcycle helmets?

Come on guys, you know better.

You know you don't look cool, just uncomfortable.

And if you're so depressed, there are far better ways to die.

Weekend (Saturday/Sunday) Thai language classes

Is there any school that has languages classes for intermediate level to join? Sirada only operates during the week and I'd rather not have a private tutor. If there was a group to join that studied the 4 skills on the weekend that would be great. Anyone know of one?

Re: Why do expats settle for horrible relationships with Thai girls who hate them?

For an extreme example, see this post http://www.huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=31890 But in real life I see it so often. Sad looking old guy walking down the street or around the food court with a grumpy frumpy thai lady following 5 metres behind. How can these people be happy together. So...

Re: Thailand's increasing intolerance of alcohol

Interesting to note that the same members posting in this thread would likely froth at the mouth at the thought of another HH expat purchasing marijuana to consume in the privacy of their home. Thai's aren't the only ones irrationally intolerant.

I know right. It's crazy how expats have internalised Thai style self-censorship and paranoid anti-drug rhetoric
