Re: Premier League 2014-2015

And the best news today is that a serious candidate, a jordanian prince with great credentials, has emerged to take on Seth Blathermouth for the FIFA presidency.

Re: Thailand's 7 deadly days on the road 2014/15

A story from China. A city in south China had out of control traffic, driving thru red lights, on the sidewalk, wrong way down one-way streets everything. The mayor had tried to get the police to act but nothing happened. He went to a conference in Hong kong. On his return he called a meeting of the...

Re: Do something good for Christmas - Give Blood

O negative is very valuable blood, O negs are Universal Donors as their blood can be given to anybody. If you donate blood it only has a shelf life of a few weeks. What is really nice is to have O neg donors who are willing to be called for emergencies. I am sure that the red cross would value you v...

Re: Railway developments in Hua Hin

To usual suspect, the chinese have one objective, to connect to deep water seaports, they are not too interested in connecting major cities, they also know that manufacturing will follow the rail lines. The plan involves a 'spur" to Bkk but it is not the main destination, on the other hand even...

Re: Railway developments in Hua Hin

I agree with you Bamboo, this is a deal about a railway but will have far reaching political, economic and social effects. I see the agreement has been signed. A dual track two line Chinese style line connecting with the line from Kumming to Vientiane. Planned start 2016. It remains to be seem who w...

Re: Collapse of rouble having effect?

I agree HHTel but this thread is about Thai tourism and the Russian component. The Russians have been a considerable factor in the numbers for the last few years. General opinion was--European tourists are down but, no problem, the Russians and Chinese are taking their place. That may not be as true...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

I agree that Dec is mid season not high season and that Jan-Feb-Mar is HIGH season, but bars that have been in business for years and compare DEC figures to other DEC figures are apprehensive as they are down significantly.

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

I spoke to a russian neighbor, a really wonderful, quiet , courteous man. He is on a govt pension and interest from savings--his income is down 45%, they have laid of the cleaning lady, the gardener, the pool service and never eat out anymore. Heartbreaking to listen to.

Entering Asian countries

This is one of those posts that is a waste of time, nothing will change. It seems that in spite of the fact that many processes have changed, entering a foreign country is almost identical to how it was 200 years ago. All person to Unfriendly person and minimal electronics. I entered Cambodia yester...

Re: Lottery prize and keeping it a secret or not?

A few years ago, I played golf with a group of Aussies, they had been doing the lottery for years and all 6 of them made a vow, they would Never tell their wives if they won. They had a win, not a huge one but a decent bit of change.
What a great time they had in Thai.

Re: Testosterone replacement therapy

One more thing. If you are contemplating treatment first go to the lab and have a PSA test, for prostatic cancer. If it is HIGH do not have testerone treatment as it fuels prostatic cancer. And beware this can be a racket, twice monthly shots (!!!!!!!!!!)

Re: Testosterone replacement therapy

When the human body and its hormonal controls were designed it was never planed that we live so long. The bible talks about three score years and ten (70) but up until 100 years ago few lived beyond 60. Hormone replacement therapy in the female has been practiced for years. The ovaries usually shut ...

What do you mean by Pattaya style?
But nine new beer bars, just what is needed, lets make bets on how soon the first one closes or is up for sale.
