Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

Thanks kwajdiver! I not only read it . . .I printed it out. I am ticking of the items you listed and also referring to my previous applications. Many thanks for the update. It really helps to know what if anything has changed in the past year. I expect to go in this Wednesday.

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

So I will go with white background and bring blue background along in case. Thanks Two additional questions: 1. Is the Doctor signed Medical report needed? 2. I dont have an arrival/departure card. Seems like I heard a while ago that it had been discontinued, but it is still referenced on the TW 7 f...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

Up for retirement visa renewal. Need to know the colour of the photo background being accepted at the new Cha Am Immigration office. I am getting conflicting info on this. Had new photos taken yesterday with a white background which the guy at Market Village photo swore were what I needed. Last year...

Blue and Yellow bookstore?

Any word on what has happened to Blue and Yellow bookstore? They dont answer the phone (not sure they ever did as I never called before) but three times I have been by over the past week or two and they have been closed during advertised business hours. I will miss them if they are out of business!

Accurate tide chart for Hua Hin?

Does anyone have a link to an accurate tide table for Hua Hin/ Cha Am? I have been using (https://www.tideschart.com/Thailand/Prachuap-Khiri-Khan/Hua-Hin) and find it totally inadequate. For example . . .Yesterday, it predicted very high tide and rising when I wanted to go for my walk. (At high tide...

Re: The Digital Surgery (computer questions/problems here)

Yes it is a printer/scanner. A Brother DCP 300. But I wrestled with the thing for an hour yesterday and could not get anything. Ok Tried it again and somehow hit the right button! ( scan to image) Success! However, it appears on my desktop after quite a few minutes . . very slow. Thats what got me. ...

convert photos to digital?

This seems an impossible task with the programs and equipment I have available. I need to convert 20 actual photos (of the printed on glossy paper variety) to digital format in order to edit them on my pc using my AC/DC program. My printer (with some difficulty and a lot of patience) produces inacce...

Disposing of videotapes

What to do with old videotapes? We have a box full just taking up space. No tape player and no intention to get one. The tech world has moved on . . and there is Netflix. Seems a crime to just add them to the trash flow.

Avast

I have had AVAST for the last year and it seems to be working OK. I have the VPN which is currently off as when it was on I believe it messed up my credit card and bank log-ins. Made a real mess of things. Can this happen? Should I keep it off for banking? I also have AVAST Cleanup Premium and AVAST...

Shopee help contact?

After more than a dozen successful, fast orders with excellent products delivered, I have been cheated by a Shopee seller. She cancelled the order ( god only knows why) and did not refund what I paid for it. Sooo Does anyone know of an English language Shopee contact, helpline address, Shopee email ...

Re: Quickest way to post to US?

Thanks for the suggestions! Will check out DHS and UPS. They cant be more expensive than the 1500 baht I paid for EMS! And I never thought to track the first letter on USPS. Found that letter currently in Texas waiting for delivery since May. So the blame is not on the Thai post but the US post.

Quickest way to post to US?

I have sent two letters to the US this past year via EMS from the Hua Hin Postoffice. Apart from being insanely expensive, neither met with success. The first still has not arrived after seven months now. The second took three weeks to finally arrive at its destination, though I was treated to a map...

Re: A simple task . . .installing an LED fluorescent light

Problem solved! I bought a new complete unit ( bulb and holder) with the two connection wires coming out one end of the package. Took me 5 min to install.
Thanks everyone for the input here. It was worth a try.
