Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

I was quite (pleasantly) surprised that I was able to travel from Congo to Thailand without the requirement for any test.. Why is the U.S. still asking and the 24hr requirement is an added hassle. Most countries that still require testing are either 72hrs before departure or 72hrs before arrival. Th...

I'm permanently confused these days when it comes to travelling and I am a frequent flier.

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

San Paolo does it with around a 1 hour wait. Cost around 500 baht. Thanks HHtel, Mrs. GN. just called San Paolo and they advised a 24hr turn-around. Possibly just the operator not knowing ar*e from elbow but BeWell looking the best option so far and close to us in Takiab. A quick call confirmed the...

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

Thanks B.B. The Mrs. did mention Banyan this morning... was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

My flight will likely be in the evening so a P.C.R. test on the same day would be required.

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates

I'm due to travel to the U.S. next week and I see there is a requirement for a PCR taken within 24hrs of travel.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the rapid PCR in Hua Hin?

Re: The Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency Thread

Bitcoin seems to be stable at around $30k just now but some nice small waves for day-trading.
Hopefully it has reached the trough though as I’m around 15% in the red on my last purchase before the last big slump a month ago.

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

Lady luck with me yesterday. Flight arrived 15-mins early and plenty time to get down to the bus desk. Think I was 30-mins early at the desk. Zero queues at the the Thai pass checkpoint or immigration (same dour faces). In fact there was no people at all at immigration which was strange because I wa...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

Thanks B.B. I'll bear in mind for next time. Unless the airport bus improves their schedule then I imagine I'll be using taxis more frequently in future. 1,500thb is a pretty good price.
Hopefully I'll catch the bus this trip otherwise it will be wacky race time.

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

I'm hoping I get lucky and it's a quiet period.. booked the ticket anyway. 394thb including bags so not a big loss if I miss it, I'll probably get home quicker in the taxi even if departing later than the bus. A lot more relaxing on the bus as apposed to the white-knuckle drive by some lunatic on wh...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

I'm finally returning to Thailand at the end of this week (2+ years away thanks to the Chinese virus). It's a shame the schedule for the airport bus is quite limited now but understandable. The current options are: 10:00, 12:30, 14:30 & 18:00. I arrive at 13:30, is an hour enough time to clear a...

Re: The bikers thread; trips, news, chat, all things motorcycle

Looking for shop in Hua Hin to buy a good quality crash helmet. Any advice please ? Are we talking a big bike here? If big bikes then I have always followed the advice given to me and bought the best I could afford. In that case your best bet are the motorcycle dealerships (Kawasaki, Honda, Ducati)...

Re: Tow-rope

Cheers Nereus!
A tow hitch is something I’ve been planning on getting for the Everest. Need it if I ever get the chance to take the trials bike on any ‘away’ trips. Getting a bike rack in Thailand is another matter…. trailer out of the question due to storage.

Tow-rope

The webbing strap (non elastic) is what I’m wanting. I used the generic term tow-rope but wouldn’t use any type of rope type available on the market. There are two options in the Thaiwatsadu website but the price/quality doesn’t appeal to me. Prefer something similar to the link you sent Nereus but ...
