Re: 4-5 gallon food grade storage bucket.... Where to find?

Korkenzieher I'm sure that the document survived the antideluvian event to my man cave, which occurred shortly after OP. However, its a 30 to 40 page double sided paper document and would be too large to scan and send. You are welcome to contact me and I will share. Most of the document contents are...

Advice on How to Park in Thailand

[ Mod Edit ] Moved from disabled parking thread. May be the wrong thread, but I think that most "Parkers" in Thailand have to be mentally "Disabled". Including expats who copy Thais. Very short Quiz. (With my answers). 1. Where is the load space "boot/trunk" on any pick...

Re: Where to buy appliances... Best price?

My two major purchases in recent years have been a TV and washing machine. I found that Home Pro was undercut by Tesco by a few thousand Baht on each item. Easy to browse as they are only a floor apart in the same mall. Tesco delivered and installed the washing machine the next day, taking the old m...

Re: Retirement Visa

Getting back on Topic http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123/15398-Issuance-of-Visa.html The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs web site is the over riding authority. I found it extremely useful when applying for our "OA" visas and can be quoted if there is a problem with your application...

Re: Marriage requirement when renewal of Non-Imm O visa.

Maybe it can be linked with the new head of nation wide immigration last year, who started a purge on people using forged marriage certs to piggyback, avoiding double monetary requirements. (BK Post article last year). Now most farangs have to have their marriage certificates verified by home Embass...

Bristolian Having spent many years in "Dry Country" where beer was made from a no alcohol beer to a point where it had to be diluted before drinking, probably about 14% alcohol by volume. I know that the brew was started in steralised (Steradent tablets) dustbins and finished up in bottles...

Laudatory for TOT

Mods please feel fit to place this anywhere, after much searching could not find where to place it. Maybe time to slim down Digital Realm ? To the subject: Last morning whilst on the net I decided to do a speed check in anticipation of receiving a new IPTV box which requires 5 Mbps connection. Only ...

Re: buying a TV

Prices of TVs have really dropped over the last few years, arrived here with a Samsung 32" brought in Saudi about 10 years ago, all it would do extra was to be used as a computer monitor. I watch from slightly more than your 10ft away and find this size about right. Anyway while giving it away ...

Handling Thai money the correct way

Stood behind a man (expat/tourist) in the less than 10 queue at Tesco today. Obviously short sighted as it took him about 3 mins to read the money required from the till read out. He then proceeded to throw not 1, 100 Baht picture of the King on the counter but a second one followed. I did not confr...

Re: Mail from HH to North America

Canada has a notoriously slow mail system. We always send airmail to Canada as EMS stops at Swampy airport, used EMS before and seemed to take the same time as airmail. Generally we bank on about 3 weeks, return from Canada about the same, plus delivery time from HH post office which could be a week...

Re: Is a foreign baby born here entitled to Thai passport?

Nanyang Slightly off topic but worth re-stating for other forum members. As I have mentioned on this forum before. Regarding Immigration to the UK, if you are "Brit" or "EU", but your family is non "Brit" or "EU" you have a right to take them through the local...

Re: drving on the left

Australia is a pretty big country that still prefers the right side (left) of the road. According to Wiki so do about 35% of the worlds population.
Still flash my windscreen wipers although had cars where this system was standard in the UK before swapping to EU system.

Slightly off topic but still relevant. Moderators may wish to move this to another thread. BB mentioned that he had made "several transactions". Just a note for anyone who has a second card for the wife on the account and goes to BK shopping. My bank (HSBC) security has a policy of "3...
