Re: The Home Air-Conditioner Thread
I am also looking to install new air conditioning in a house that's almost completele. I am looking to install Daikin static duct inverter units, 4x 48000 BTU, 2x 36,000 BTU and 1x 24,000 BTU. My issue is that the shop in Hua Hin has marked up every unit by 15,000 baht. I have found 2 Bangkok compan...

Re: Builders supply store
Thank you very much for the replies. I'm fairly sure it is not Thai Watsadu but I will take a look there anyway. The gypsum should be relatively easy to source but getting the experienced team to install it is not that easy. I was hoping that this "new" place could supply both.

Builders supply store
Hi All, Someone mentioned to me that a new builders supply store opened on Petchkasem road that specialized or has expertise in gypsum fiber board for ceilings or may have their own team to install it. Does anyone know where this is. I have driven around the northern part of Petchkasem but haven't b...

Re: Palm Hills Juristic Person (Moo Baan)
We have just bought in Palm Hills. Is there any information available on the advantages /disadvantages of setting up a juristic person. Would there be additional costs such as having to rent an office there etc etc. For example we just had a problem with an overhanging tree, we called The office and...

Re: Tiler and sandwash contact in Hua Hin?
Brit Jim I tried to send a PM but I'm not sure if it went. I've finally completed the purchase of a house and now I am looking for someone to remove all the tiles and lay new tiles. Any recommendations would be appreciated and if they have other building skills then that's even better.

I need to open a bank account in Hua Hin and was wondering which bank is the most farang friendly. I have a visa but no work permit, I have a Bangkok address but no Hua Hin address yet.

Re: Advice please, villa purchase - freehold or 30 year lease?
Just FYI I have gone through several iterations of how to structure the purchase since I last posted. Company, wife's name, lease and each have there pros and cons and all are to some extent dependent on the current ownership structure and what the seller is prepared to do. I think all the points re...

Re: Advice please, villa purchase - freehold or 30 year lease?
I am going the purchase process at the moment and I am using Jane at Chavalit. She is more expensive than others (around $1000 more) but when I was doing my DD on legal firms her name was by far the most recommended. If I was a seller then I'd just use a local lawyer but as a buyer I want to know I ...

Re: Selling land based on the appraised (goverment assessed) land office valuation
I would say the government appraisal price has virtually no chance of being lowered so you are banking on your property price going up. In this environment I can't see that happening for quite a long time. The last government appraisal increase before this one was in 2011 I think, so you may be wait...

Re: Newbie
Thx the wife seems set on Palm Hills (at least for the moment) so the path of least resistance is to exhaust all possibilities there before widening the search. As far as building a new house goes, some of the properties we have looked at have prime lots and are selling at below construction cost (i...
