Re: Hua Hin top 10 restaurants

If the Monday buffet, seafood, is still on at the Dusit Thani, I would say there. Expensive, but a great variety and superb quality. Has anyone tried the seafood buffet recently? I've survived another year with the wife and need to take her for some nice seafood on our anniversary. Never been to th...

Re: Indian Restaurants

Agree Dannie Boy. Off the top of my head the dish was 180 bht, I'd happily pay more to get a decent portion of meat in there. I may just had a word with the owner next time and ask him to up the portion and adjust the cost accordingly, he's a really nice bloke and I'm sure he'll be happy to oblige. ...

Re: Indian Restaurants

It's called Shiva Ayurveda and they also do yoga and meditation. You can google it to see the menu. Went today again after a long break and the reasons for my beak have again been confirmed. The food is very good, as are the surroundings and service, however I have a big problem with ordering a lam...

Re: Premiership Football Contract?

Yes they won the contract for 3 seasons.

We are now into the second season, will be interesting to see how the bidding goes beyond the contract term.

Re: Farang buying a house with a Thai lady

True words Spitfire, after 9 years in the country I'm still weighing up the pros and cons of buying. Although happily married with the same partner for the last 7 years and a beautiful little boy to share, I just don't see the value in buying here. I can't get my head around the prices and therefore...

Re: Premier League 2014-2015

It was blatant obstruction, the vine video doesn't show Sterling's intent to block the run of Ramires. In that case the yellow was justified, unfortunate he took an arm in the face though. The penalty call in slow mo was 100% right. I just wonder if the ref was able to see it through bodies and at s...

Re: Trip report: A glimpse into Cambodia

Oh, buggeration. I'm going to Cambodia on Boxing Day for a few days, to see the killing fields and all that. Is the immigration really like that or can I fend it off in advance? I always get the visa in Thailand a few days before traveling to places like this. It saves a lot of hassle at the other ...

Re: Premier League 2014-2015

There is no doubt that the foreign players have improved the standard of football admittedly at the expense of home grown development. For selfish reasons I love the premier league exactly how it is. Every game means something. The bottom team can beat the top team, there is little in the way of pre...

Re: Premier League 2014-2015

As an Arsenal fan I can't rant about anything else until we have a change in manager. All our current problems stem from him. Did a fantastic job for 15 years in building the stadium and maintaining a semi-elite status, but he is now holding the club back with his stubborn ways. Sent from my iPhone ...

Re: Psychological/Physical shift to Thai food?

A bit like HHFarang, used to eat 90% Thai now it's the other way round. I find the higher dollop of rice with each meal too carb intensive, plus the flash fry of many dishes is not as healthy as a Thai diet would lead one to believe. I'm back to grilled fish, chicken, steaks with fresh salad for mos...

Re: Tourist Slump Continues

My misses used to work in a beauty clinic in BKk. One night the clinic manager administered what was supposed to oxygen to an American patient. Instead he (who was totally unqualified to do so) turned on the gas. 15 mins later the patient was completely brain dead (won Thai citizenship on those grou...
