Re: Help with Laptop Repair
HHCanuck, good idea. I do use Google Drive but probably not as much as I should. I'll get onto that. Thanks.

Re: Help with Laptop Repair
Thanks Frank for the feedback. I'm not that tech savvie myself and will probably get someone to do all this for me. But if your prices are close to the mark, then i would be happy with that. Cheers.

Help with Laptop Repair
Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows of a decent IT whizz around HH. I have a Dell laptop that is only a couple years old and it is coming up with constant Predictive Failure messages re my hard drive. I need the computer for online business and I'm thinking it is not going to last much longer. ...

Re: Grocery shopping in Khao Takiab
Quite simple really. Hit the temple markets on Tues & Sat for fresh fruit/veges/meat (?). Plenty there and even some fresh seafood. Or even the fish markets close by for the seafood. Get up to Market Village to stock up on other stuff from Tesco. Simple baht bus ride up and back from the Takiab ...

Re: New Development Takiab South
Agreed, the traffic can get pretty hectic down this end of town. Not sure what it is with Thais and always trying to park as close to the beach as possible in those narrow beach lane access roads. The worst is down at the bottom of the northern side of Monkey Mountain. The big vacant block adjacent ...

New Development Takiab South
Seems to be a fair bit happening south of the Takiab Police Post. As you know the new ferry terminal is well and truly under construction on the southern side of Monkey Mountain. There was a new 711 recently opened next to the old Sea Markets. And just to the north of that, a new block was built to ...

Re: Retired with wife under 50 - what visa for wife?
lomuamart, Thanks again. That was also my understanding. It wouldn't be the first time I have received the wrong information from a legal firm but I just wanted to clarify. I was actually at Immigration today after lunch for my wife's visa extension and tried to ask staff about it there, but I'm afr...

Re: Retired with wife under 50 - what visa for wife?
And just a follow up to the above. I basically asked the same question on the Siam Legal International live chat line and this is the response I got from them ; 'If your wife gets her one year visa extension (dependent) inside Thailand, she will just need to do visa reporting at the immigration offi...

Re: Retired with wife under 50 - what visa for wife?
Thanks lomuamart, much appreciated. I figured that would be the case. I think someone might be getting confused by which sort of visa they actually been issued with and the information they have been receiving. All good. Cheers.

Re: Retired with wife under 50 - what visa for wife?
Just a question if you don't mind regarding the wife as a dependant on my retirement extension. My wife is Australian and I've heard from different sources from people in similar situations that the foreign dependant wife has to leave Thailand every 3 months. My wife is currently on a Tourist Visa b...

Re: Seacraze vs Baan Kiang Faa
Hopefully not too late a reply for you. I have lived in The Seacraze for about 5 months now. We like it. It is a big complex and depending which building and facing which way (either pool or road) can determine how much noise there is. We live on the 6th floor in a 2 bedroom unit facing the pool. Su...

Re: Police checkpoints in Hua Hin
Seem to be getting pulled over on my scooter every time I head to Market Village. Even twice sometimes as I have to do a u turn to head back south after leaving. Doesn't worry me too much as I always wear a helmet and have the correct licence etc. I just pull over as a matter of fact now as I just k...

Re: Urgent Blood Request
After communicating with Ricardo earlier today, and being O Neg myself, I headed up to HH Hospital to donate. First time I have been to that hospital and it can be a little intimidating and busy, especially if your Thai language skills are at my low level. But the Blood Bank is easy to find. Just wa...

Re: New to Hua Hin Forum
Been living in HH for about 5 months now. There are are quite a wide variety of nationalities here. Less Aussies than I thought there would be. When we first arrived in early Feb, there were Scandinavians everywhere but they seem to head home for their summer. I've met and socialised with a few from...
