Re: Getting something you treasure - serviced / repaired

I have the same problem with 4 Cerwin Vega studio monitor speakers circa 1971 that I have drug around the world for over 40 years. When working they still sound better than anything new on the market. I had them refurbed twice in California and Florida, but 3 out of 4 now need work again (one becau...

Re: Just Been Made a Fool By Bangkok Hospital :-)

Seems like I'll probably be OK then, since none contain opiates or narcotics, they're just standard heart meds ie Statins, Plavix (anti clotting) Ramipril (blood vessel dilators) and Beta Blockers

Re: Just Been Made a Fool By Bangkok Hospital :-)

As I've already indicated in other threads, I planning my forthcoming retirement and will need to purchase medication for my heart condition, on a regular basis. So, Q1 how do I find out what is, and what is not, prescription only, and Q2, can you get 'repeat prescriptions' from the doctors like I d...

Re: Hua Hin Video thread

Looking at the Vids shot in daylight, and having never visited Hua Hin, the roads appear to be very quiet and remarkably traffic free. Are these vids representative of the state of the traffic situation? or is it just a bit of a coincidence they appear that way?

Re: Hello from the UK

From what I've heard so far it would seem Hua Hin will probably suit me fine, and I'm looking forward to paying an extended visit later in the year. My thanks to all who've taken the trouble to provide useful advice.

Re: Hello from the UK

I have just returned from a 4 week stay in Hua Hin and having been there about 10-15 times this trip left me feeling a bit uneasy about living there in retirement. I have never been over Christmas before so it may just be the time of year but I have never seen so many people so so drunk before. Eve...

Re: Hello from the UK

Not sure about the Arabs, but Russians will come more and more to HH, thats for sure. But, as it was told many times on this forum, they are not the type of Pattaya russians - more of mothers with children to stay for winter (nov-april). Yes, I'm sure the Russians will spread their presence and inf...

Re: Hello from the UK

Hi Oakdale160, I hear where you are coming from, in reality I have already been in retirement for several years due to 'less than perfect' health, but it seems to be improving, I have spent a considerable amount of time in Thailand, so it's not going to be a huge, or unexpected change in circumstanc...

Hello from the UK

Hi all, My name is Peter and I'm from the UK, I'm intending to retire later this year and at the moment I'm researching my options. I'm no stranger to Thailand, I made my first trip way back in 84, but have never got round to taking a look at Hua Hin despite several recommendations to do so over the...
