Re: FB Brand Car Battery
The 70mai jump starter I have in the back of the car uses lithium polymer batteries so will definitely outlast the lead acid lump you have in the car..

Re: FB Brand Car Battery
If you drive an auto, get a jump start battery just in case. I have jumper cables and 70mai jump starter pack in my car all the time.

Typically in the tropics, 2-3 years before you stand the risk of a no-start situation.

Re: FB Brand Car Battery
It depends on the type of battery. Most unsealed lead acid batteries come with that kind of warranty as they are not built to last. It's the heat that kills the batteries. When I had the Saab the battery location was less than ideal (at least for the tropics) as it was in the engine bay right next t...

Re: FB Brand Car Battery
It is a local brand, they have a factory making them quite near Saraburi. Okay quality for that price but not something I would personally use if I had a choice. Sorry, but a bit of a snob when it comes to things like this.

Re: Help please, Indo Mee instant dry noodles
Both Big C and Tops supermarkets have online shopping and I see Indomie Mi Goreng in their listings. You could try them. Tops has an english menu option but is considered more upmarket than Big C and therefore will have prices that reflect that.

Re: Help please, Indo Mee instant dry noodles
Foodland do have a website and online shopping, but they do not have an English language menu. I'll try and extend my evening walk to cover Foodland and pop in to check if they have anything close. Nissin branded instant noodles also have a decent variety, but not many make it to Thailand.

Re: Help please, Indo Mee instant dry noodles
Saw this in Foodland Bangkok not too long ago, I also like Indomee, and have seen the mi goreng flavor at Lotus in Ban Bueng. Will check Foodland tomorrow if I have time, they usually have things most other supermarkets do not.

Re: Thailand Floods 2022
Well, back in 2011, if they weren't so busy trying to fill in certain drains to protect the elite areas instead of opening them all up, the floods would have lasted a week instead of months..

Re: Coin counting machine
While the banks do have them, they will charge a hefty fee for the privilege. I used to have a coin operated petrol dispenser and two phone top up machines and these would generate between 5-7000 baht in coins (and a whole lot of twenties). The bank wanted to charge 130 baht per 1000 which I thought...

Re: Vehicles "Out of Pawn"
The way I read it, the vehicle in question does not have an existing loan outstanding on it at the time of sale.
Many people will, if facing hardship, sell off a vehicle that they have not fully paid off with part of the existing loan still outstanding.
Buyer beware.

Re: New passenger law for songthaews.
It wasn't so long ago that people were hanging onto the open bus doors and the bus driving at a crazy angle.. oh, wait. That was when the non-airconditioned buses were 2 baht a to trip circa 30 years ago. Been here too long.

Re: New passenger law for songthaews.
These songthaews provide a transport service that none of the official transport options provide. They make a pittance per passenger and people will stand because they don't have any other option. I sometimes take the songthaew from the market in Bangkok to the hospital (goes through some obscure mu...

Re: Best Instant Coffee available in Hua Hin
The other half has taken to drinking her morning coffee without sugar and finds this brand palatable. She now avoids Nescafe, finds it too bitter. Tchibo is from Germany. I get mine from the 7-11, though have also seen it at the larger Lotus branches.

Re: Best Instant Coffee available in Hua Hin
I like Tchibo Gold instant coffee, but I believe they use Robusta instead of Aribica. Not a coffee fanatic, but just need a bit of a jolt to get me going in the mornings. Better than Nescafe Gold and Moccona imo.
