Re: Cheaper UBC??

More interesting was the statement that they had a 6mb TOT internet connection. Did anyone check to see it that is really the speed they are getting. Run a test (not on the TOT speed test site) off a reliable and true internet speed site and bet you will find the speed around 1mb as I did when I had...

Re: Best place to buy trees and shrubs

There is a great place that has all your looking for but finding it can be difficult since there is no sign out front but only a driveway into it from the main P-- road. Its beyond the airport by a few km but before the FN outlet. Its just after one of the giant roadside signs on the left then you c...

Re: USA Old Age Pension

Where is all this interesting made up story coming from? YES you can have your Social Security deposited directly into only a Bangkok Bank account. Read the Social Security website--its there. Bangkok Bank has a New York branch that makes this possible. You must, however, open a direct deposit accou...

Re: Siam Old Teak?

You can always go up soi 88 over the hill and follow the signs to their warehouse and offices there. You should be able to find out what's up for sure that way.

Retirement Visa Renewal--Income varification

On my 90 day check in at Immigration yesterday I was told that when I renew my retirement visa I no longer need to go to the U.S. embassy to obtain the notarized income verification. If your income is via retirement funds, you need only pay Immigration an additional 4,000 baht and they will verify y...

Re: Halt to oil levy approved

Yes, Regular Gas was hard to find on my trip to BKK yesterday. After finding it have noticed significant improvement in KPL to numbers never seen before on Gasahol91. Will be interesting to see overall affect after a few tanks of it if the "temporary" thing lasts for a while. I still can't...

Re: Halt to oil levy approved

Gasohol sales should tank now. From my earlier testing I found regular gasoline got me about 12% more KPL than Gasohol 91 which was 15% cheaper (because of the tax) so I used Gasohol 91. Now its regular "benzine" all the way and should be up to 50 Kilometers more per tank plus more power f...

If they don't have what you want at new store just go down to Makro in Pranbury. Not that far away. With Big C nearby, surely you should be able to find what you want between the two.

Re: The new Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin

Today I was left to sit and wait at the cashier/pharmacy station for well over 15 minutes, watching people come and go while I sat there. When I said something at the counter I was immediately directed to the cashier who miraculously had my paperwork in hand. I was then told what I owed the hospital...

Re: Foreign ATM card daily withdrawal limits

Have very recently spent too much time researching the Bangkok Bank option for retirement and payroll deposits and bank transfers from U.S. banks to Bangkok Bank New York Branch. My last visit to the Bangkok Bank next to Market Village was a frustrating experience since I knew more about the deal th...

Thanks for the info on Passport Control with my Thai wife. Should speed up our next trip a bit. Never knew I could.

Can I also enter country with her through Thai Immigration stations?

Re: How do you guys get the city to do their job?

If you want to stop the weed growth, spray it with Round-Up. I use it to spray anything that comes up where I don't want any growth. Deadly stuff and kills the roots. I got some at Nursery on ocean side of P--road about 100m before overhead walkway when coming south from ChaAm into town past Index. ...
