***Barclay's arranged a speedy card replacement ***
Did Barclays post your new card to Thailand? The reason I ask is that Lloyds TSB will not post bank cards or PIN numbers to me here in Thailand.

Re: BLOOD TESTS and the like
Just out of curiosity what tests would they do on a 'general checkup' and how much would it cost? A Basic checkup include: 1. Complete blood count which includes haemoglobin, White Blood Count, Platelet Count etc. 2. Blood chemistry, i.e. Blood Sugar level, Uric Acid, Cholesterol, Liver Function, K...

Re: Where can I buy a SatNav
That is much cheaper than I paid and I understand the wider screen is better because it has a QUERY keyboard facility.

Re: Where can I buy a SatNav
I bought a Garmin unit at Pure Plaza on Petchakasem Road, just a bit further North than Chomsin Road on the right hand side for just under 5000 Baht. Its a very good piece of kit but they didn't have too much stock so you take pot luck.

Re: driving lessons in Hua Hin
Head inland over the railway track on the Pala U road. There is the big supermarket on your left. Just past it do not turn right with the majority of the traffic but keep straight ahead. About 150m on your right, at the end of a block as I recall, there is a driving school. You'll see all the traff...

Driving Lessons
Can anyone recommend a good "car" driving school for my Thai girlfriend to take some lessons please. I know this question has been asked before but when I searched the forum the answers I found were a year old.

Re: Photo trip report: Vietnam north to south
Another great report with wonderful pictures. Thank you.
I stayed in Hoi An last January and ate several times in a small restaurant run by an American and his Vietnamese wife named Ly. The place is called "Miss LY" and is well worth a visit.

I was at Immigration today as well and a move to hopefully bigger premises will be good. Hope they keep the same staff as they are always helpful.

Re: Contact Lenses
UPDATE: I may have the answer to my own original question. I've spoken to a senior member of Customs who I met a while back when I was hit for some import duty and he says that I will be taxed on anything that is brought into Thailand if the value exceeds 1000 Baht. When I said that these were conta...

Contact Lenses
I need a particular type of Contact Lens and have tried to find them everywhere here in HH and further afield without success. My brother can ship them from the UK but the question is:- Will they be subject to import tax/duty?

Re: Parking at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Thanks for the replies. I think I will go with the taxi option as apart from the cost I don't really fancy leaving a new car in the blazing sun for 3 weeks, or maybe more!
