Re: Photo trip report: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai loop

Hi buksida,

Probably something to do with the new server: I cannot see the pictures. He asks me to download them one by one, but even that route is a no-go as the message appears: this image no longer exists.

I will be patient although you have been to my all time favorite part of Thailand.

Re: (Non)-Automation in Thailand

After many many years living in Thailand I too was still surprised by how things are handled here. But then I found a scientific explanation of much what is going on in this country. It is called the Dunning-Kruger effect. From wikipedia: The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias wherein relativ...

Re: Owners of rented houses, rooms, hotels ordered to report foreign occupants

Here in the hotel where I work in Phuket I forward all passport details of all non-Thai guests every day to immigration. Can be done online. There are of course no daily checks. Would be completely useless in the first place, but - in theory - it should make life more difficult for people on the run...

Why bullet-proof vests? Are they afraid the big Thai supplier will try to kill them before they start talking?

I complained also about the Terms & Conditions:

37.1.12c Donating moderators are allowed to enter their predictions up until 15 minutes after the games have finished.

Explains a lot.

Re: Rip Kees van dobben

I wanted to post the sad news on here but find it already posted. I am the friend mentioned and I am already in touch with Kees brother Han who has informed the rest of the family and is making arrangements to attend the funeral service soon to be held in Bang Niang Khao Lak. I visited Kees last wee...

Re: PM brands free care as 'too costly'

It all comes down to the structural problem: only the poor pay taxes, the rich don't. Thailand has a long way to go. I am afraid that prior to the next elections we will see another vote buying round by manipulating the uneducated populace (not their fault) through another cunning unrealistic propos...

Re: PM brands free care as 'too costly'

Not so sure if it is "easily affordable".
Blame Taksin for implementing it, not Prayut for his -in my opinion justified- criticism.

Re: IKTS 2014/2015

Well done Mr. Buksida!! Congratulations.

I myself managed just to end in the Top 10 after my first 90 points triple bonus of the season on the last day (Newcastle - West Ham 2-0).

So there is hope for all of us for next season because if Buksida can win IKTS anyone can! LOL :run:

Re: The Digital Surgery

Not in junk mail. I just checked webmail and all mails are there. All delivered to Outlook except for the ones created through the form on the website. Mystery remains. Buksida: You might be right about Thunderbird being a better alternative but impossible for me to switch at the moment as I have cr...

Re: The Digital Surgery

I have a problem with my business emails. People can fill out an inquiry form on our website and until recently I always received the inquiries in my Outlook. Then one day people contacted me directly and asked why I did not reply to their inquiry. That is how I found out these emails sent through o...

I always understood that it is also possible to download nasty's without you noticing it. Especially when visiting dodgy sites where a click seemingly redirects you to another page or nothing happens at all (that is what you think). But normally a download will create an icon in the folder where you...

Re: Looking for company to help getting Thai Drivers License

Actually you need 45 correct out of 50. If you do not pass you can re-try there and then one more time. Fail twice and you have to come back another day.
