Re: Colon Cancer Blood Screening
Are there any public hospitals in Hua Hin that have cancer marking tests for colon cancer ? How much are the costs ? Also what is the best cheapest private hospitals there for blood testing? Blood Tests for colon cancer are considered unreliable at this stage and may give rise to false positives. T...

Re: Menu/food prices rising in Thailand
Of course WE can, but this will be passed on to the entire nation. Not all are as fortunate as us. There is no doubt a Baht here and a Baht there is taking effect. I remember when street food was 20฿ - do don't get much for 20฿ any more unless you are travelling on a train. I bought a couple of hal...

Re: Major Economic Issues For Thailand
And of courase this data comes from outside of Thailand. If you haven't already done so, worth reading is Chartchai Parasuk's article in the BP yesterday, about these non performing loans and the current and future risk to the Thai economy - it's not rosy! https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinio...

Barclays Bank UK to cancel expats accounts
I read in todays UK press that Barclays Bank is in the process of cancelling ex pats account, with 6months notice apparently. Lloyds Bank is reported to be doing the same. That does not leave many of the major banks left, and as it is a hassle opening a new account nowadays due to various regulation...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
I don't know how it works in the UK but in the Netherlands I have to inform the tax authorities that I live abroad and tell them which pensions I wish to be taxed abroad. The tax authorities then send a letter to the companies that pay me the pensions informing them that they do not need to deduct ...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
Seems as clear as mud to me but going by what the "experts" say in the linked BP article, it appears to me that they're going after Thais who have a foreign income. If the new rules only apply to the three income areas mentioned, I don't see that those of us living here on annual extensio...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand
I 'm a non uk tax resident and I am looking to retire to Thailand in about 2 years. I have already done homework on this issue as I plan to not only take my armed forces pension but use a few other means as an income. My financial advisor has already said besides my non tax status and the liability...
