Re: Usuful Thai words and idioms
Then you will have the grammatical differences of the various languages we use. For example, in Thai it's not always necessary to have a verb (predicate) in a sentence or clause as in: "khao suay" = she pretty = she is pretty. It is not necessary to have the verb "to be" at all....

Endless possibilities. I am happy you believe in Buddha and yes everyone makes mistakes. I make them everyday and respect your honesty. Bodhicitta can be produced daily by your personal impact on your temporary attachments. It seems like Humanity is the only tree which exists in biodiversity which '...

I apologize if your feelings were hurt and I was the only one who responded to your post. Me I am also trying to change the system as well but in a much more constructive way which does not condemn an entire nation or government "as a tanker floating on an ocean of paperwork" , atleast Tha...

Re: Help needed,missing people
Let me know if your wife could not reach the security at this house to find this gentleman's whereabouts, I could always take a closer look... A very generous offer in the circumstances. I'm bedridden and sick so I have an excuse for wasting my time online, whats yours?... Technology is also bedrid...

Re: Boycott the Multi-National Corporations in Thailand
Two different mom and pop shop owners have told me they never use Makro because you don't get carrier bags.........lol. I think they go to wherever is more convenient for them, to be hones I don't have time for engaging in idle talk, insults or mindless arguments. I only mentioned a few names of bu...

Re: Animals/Insects
I have those centipedes in my house, redy/brown in colour? Quite fast and seem to sway from right to left as they charge? Those things are meant to be quite poisonous. When I first saw one, like the niave fool that I am, I went to try and pick it up before my girlfriend started shouting at me in Th...

Re: Guys using Chan
Only annoyed that I don't really know someone's name, not the loong bit. The habit of calling an elder person uncle or auntie is an Asian thing, something I was brought up with in post-colonial Singapore. I can live with that. As far as nicknames go, there are about seventy Thais working in my comp...

Re: Recycling in Hua Hin
The local Municipality/government claims to recycle everything in the bins you see on the street. Before 2 months ago most of the garbage was incinerated and now it still is to a certain extent, BUT the government is improving and toughening laws on burning of plastic and pollution. I cannot make an...

Re: Help needed,missing people
There is also a young Thai girl aged 14 years old that has been missing in Hua Hin for over a month now. She is suspected to be living with an older male in his early 20's. If you go to your local police station you can ask to see all pictures of missing individuals but certainly be careful of how m...

Boycott the Multi-National Corporations in Thailand
More than 20 years ago in Thailand, before 7-11's, KFC's, McDonalds, Department Stores and Tesco's were on every block with a stop light. These corporations operate like organized crime outfits with sweatshops filled with slaves in and outside of Thailand. They had something called 'Fair Trade' and ...

I smell a lot of racist, prejudiced BS here, or could it be just the arrogance and condescending attitudes of those who hide behind a computer screen to act tough?
