Yes, true. But Vietnam produces only all the bulk coffee that goes in to the instant coffees. All the better beans come from south america.oakdale160 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 9:22 am I learnt this in a pub quiz at JWs-- Vietnam is the 2nd bigest coffee exporter in the World after Brazil.

Restaurant inside Jamchuree, The Three Chefs
The head chef told me last spring that he's gonna move more towards the beach. Does anyone know is there a new operator inside the Jamchuree and where has the old one gone? He made the best massaman curry I've never eaten.

Re: Start of the Jellyfish Season?
The jellyfish are always there year round but it's normally September and October when currents drift them inshore that you're most likely to encounter them. You should be OK at Xmas time but if you see lots of them washed up on the shore it's probably best to stay out of the sea. That's unlikely t...

Re: Start of the Jellyfish Season?
How is the Christmas time? We were maybe, this is still a big MAYBE, thinking of coming there for two weeks during the holidays. But airline fares are also so high now for that time of year and then if the ocean is also horrible then there is no point of wasting all that money.

Re: Nescafe
I found this Tesco's own premium instant coffee from Market Village's Tesco Lotus, it's really balanced and nice. Just a couple of weeks ago this Finnish supermarket chain called Prisma took some of Tesco's products in their shelves and now I have the same coffee here in Finland too!!

Re: Demolition of restaurants + shops in Poon Suk road
The advantage of these restaurants was that they were casual reasonably priced places right in the middle of where the tourists walk around at night. A lot of tourists don't venture out of that area between Phetkasem and the beach and Chomsin and Damnoern Kasem Rd. As an expat, I rarely frequented ...

Re: New apartments to the monkey mountain beach?
I was looking down at this construction site from the nearby Jamjuree condo - there is certainly something going on there, and the person who lived in the unit I was in said it was a high end resort being built. It didn't look like it could be as big as the artist impressions on the link, though ha...

Re: New apartments to the monkey mountain beach?
It's coming there for sure. Just saw a presentation video. And it's gonna be huge. Unless you live at least on the 10th floor of Jamchuree, you can kiss the ocean view goodbye.

Re: New apartments to the monkey mountain beach?
If it is, the artist has quite a imagination, and Khao Takiab has changed shape. Quite a few existing buildings will have to fall and a major tree planting exercise take place (would the mountain support that level of forestry - I guess the monkeys would love it) before that happens :? Yeah, but I ...
