Re: Rugby - 2012 6 Nations Championship
Richard, you are a gentleman but in truth I don't think Wales had any favours from Steve Walsh who allowed England to steal the ball at the ruck whilst off their feet on numerous occassions; failed to penalise Lee Dickson for consistently going offfside at scrums (at one point he was actually in th...

Re: Rugby - 2012 6 Nations Championship
Steve Walsh - 'nuff said. I think Wales deserved a bit of luck and a few ref favours after their unfortunate world cup Richard, you are a gentleman but in truth I don't think Wales had any favours from Steve Walsh who allowed England to steal the ball at the ruck whilst off their feet on numerous o...

Re: Bomb explosion in Bangkok
As long as the super powers have them though, other countries are going to want them as well..........it's just human nature. I kind of agree with that statement, although I think it should be qualified by adding that those other countries are more likely to be those with certain political/ideologi...

BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-17026007 And the MailOnline actually has photos of the bomber - minus legs - in the street. These pics are all over the internet news pages: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2100917/Iranian-legs-blown-Bangkok-bomb-blast-tries-plant-explosive-outside-s...

Re: Bomb explosion in Bangkok
This is making the news elsewhere. The Jerusalem Post suggests that the incident followed an accidental explosion at a bomb making cell earlier in the day and a link to attacks on Israeli Embassies elsewhere: http://www.jpost.com/International/Article.aspx?id=257754 Herald Sun here: http://www.heral...

Re: Rugby - 2012 6 Nations Championship
Charge-down Charlie saves the day for England again & another professional performance by Wales who are showing surprising strength in depth. Scotland are a much better side than their results suggest & England will need to improve quite a bit to avoid home defeat to Wales.... bring it on!

Re: Service excellence - Home Pro don't know what it means
You know when you are onto a loser when there is no Thai word for guarantee - it is not a concept they seem to understand. 'Gah-lan-tee' ....? As in 'Gah-lan-tee weesah!' Seriously, and annoying as it is, don't sweat it - especially over 350 Baht. Just stop spending there and go to one of th...

Re: Rugby - 2012 6 Nations Championship
I think that whilst the IRB closed ranks and Alain Rolland was backed to the hilt over Warburton's red card, something has happened behind the scenes since then as it is clear that the starting point for ALL tip tackle offences is no longer a red card, which is how it was presented by the IRB during...

Re: Is Thai Build Good Quality?
Hi Pete, I guess the way you have worded your OP suggests a certain opinion! I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure that automotive exports form a big part of the Thai economy, so the bits and pieces they make end up in the Hondas, Nissans and Toyotas all over the rest of the world, including Jap...

Re: Rugby - 2012 6 Nations Championship
Wales were superb up front, especially when you consider they were playing without FIVE first choice forwards in Gethin Jenkins & Mathew Rees in the front row, Charteris & Alun Wyn Jones in the second row and Lydiate at 6. Then during the match Warburton is off at half time and Adam Jones go...

Re: Take a deep breath, smile, pay up, walk away and stay al
Well, I have to disagree. I think you're more likely to get some straightforward intimidation along the lines of: "You better f#@%ing pay up OR ELSE..." from a criminally minded farang. The fact that he might employ a Thai to carry out the act is irrelevant. As Advocate posted above, the T...

Re: Take a deep breath, smile, pay up, walk away and stay al
Thanks for all your replies to this one. My response to a couple of comments: I have never felt physically intimidated by a Thai man as they are typically much smaller, and I am also very capable of physically taking care of myself even with the larger ones. Unless of course he is the local boxing c...

Take a deep breath, smile, pay up, walk away and stay alive
I've been away from the forum for a few months for one reason or another - mainly that I can't afford a trip to Thailand anytime soon - but popped back today to catch up on the goings on in 'Paradise City'. I am truly shocked by the thread on Paul Ayling and wish him and his family the very best for...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 - New Zealand
I believe he was wrong to issue a red card, but many will argue against that opinion That is the point - that the decision by Rollands is certainly open to debate, as my post illustrated. By contrast, the IRB have presented this as an open and shut case and that Rolland had no option but to red car...
