Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 - New Zealand
Apologies - you made no such assertion - it was Big Boy's comment: "I don't think it mattered who got through England, Ireland, Wales or France. IMHO the Southern Hemisphere is too strong." I think that this world cup has shown that this is patently not the case, with a strong Ireland side...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 - New Zealand
It takes a lot of bottle for a referee to uphold the laws of the game . Because so few have the bottle (especially in the presence of a hostile crowd, it's sad when your team is the team on the receiving end. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right. OK - this is where I admit that I am a ref! *ducks f...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 - New Zealand
Agreed - possibly the most lame version of 'the sheep joke' I have ever read.
The joke actually goes like this:
An Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman walk into a pub...
...to watch Wales play in the World cup Semi-final!

Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 - New Zealand
Ta - but for us Taffs it's Bois ! As for Sam Warburton, it has to be said that he is a tremendous athlete - if he matches the standards and longevity of his mentor, Martyn Williams, he could become one of the all time greats of the game. I watched him coming out of academy rugby a few years b...

Re: Rugby World Cup 2011 - New Zealand
It has not gone unnoticed! He has also whistled Wales off the park the last couple of times we've had him!
It beggars belief really.
I think a poor England made France look better than they really are and I still expect Wales to win next weekend.

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Well, the mood in our house was lightened last night when I ignored my own 'never fart during the first week in Thailand' rule and loudly followed through whilst playing Scrabble with my 9 year old son. He thought it was hilarious! Weather glorious all day today.

Hmm .... That old chestnut! If it rained at 6pm every day I'd agree but it's wiped out the afternoons so no beach = bored kids = glum holiday!

Re: Champions League 2010 / 2011
I've never liked Mourinho but I think he does have a point against other teams getting red cards against Barcelona. Ha ha - Yeah - the controversial instances he cited were all against teams managed by Mourinho! There is definitely a common thread there but not the one El Traductor wants the World ...

Re: Champions League 2010 / 2011
Yeah - but I expected nothing else of Mourinho. He has to keep himself in the news - it's what he does.
When asked what he thought of El Traductor's comments, Guardiola simply replied "Nothing." A better man both on and off the pitch.

Re: Champions League 2010 / 2011
Before the four Galacticos matches Mourinho said they had practised playing with 10 players as against Farcelona in any given match one player is most likely to be shown a red card. Can't say he was wrong. Mourinho needs to stop bleating as he is reaping what he has sown - his side had four yellow ...

Re: Gardening
I found that the one thing I couldn't find in Hua Hin was a garden fork but that was before Home-Pro opened. Maybe you can get them in Hua Hin now but I brought mine from the UK and keep it safely locked up! Thoughts on papaya - we had one growing in very meagre soil at the back of the house. It sho...
