As we all know, someone in one area can get heavy rain and yet somebody else living just a few kms away gets nothing!!

Coming back from Khao Tao, the road around Suan Son was very wet, with a lot of surface water. Coming down quite steadily at my house now - just off 94.

We got wet in Thap Tai for a couple of hours late afternoon, not heavy, just steady, and as I drove the length of 102 and back, the rain was at both ends!

A couple drops at soi 6. Not enough to wet the pavement even.

Amazing how quickly this place floods. Might need my dookers for a run this evening.

Continuously reasonably heavy rain here at the traffic light end of 112. Seems to have brought the flying whatevers out, much to the delight of the toad family that call my garden home.

Past history of this thread indicates that this is quite early for Hua Hin to get the regular/ongoing rain that is happening. Usually it seems Hua Hin's real wet season is near the end of the monsoon in October.

If you look at that India chart/link above the first line of the monsoon is more horizontal and far reaching then "is usual". It seems it's sweeping further east catching Hua Hin and the south east coast earlier than it usually does.

We normally get a day or two like this in March or April, so today's rain is well overdue. There's obviously been a steady downpour because I've just ventured outside for the first time, and the wasteland opposite is under water, and the BIG termites are rising fast.

My son's class outside this evening should be interesting. I'll most likely be on termite clearance duty - I hate that job, but somebody has to do it. Hopefully, coming out this early, the termite swarms will have ended by the time it gets dark.

Rain went from 2-3 drops to the heavens bursting open in about 2 minutes!
