I left Mrs BB in the car as a precaution (not allowed to get wet), and off I set with No.2 dog. Half way around, the heavens opened. I'm currently fresh out of a long, hot shower.

Driving conditions horrendous on the way home - a lot of aquaplaning. The end of several Sois e.g. 116, 112, 94 just a full blown river. Enjoyed the drive though.
Came down the canal road to soi 6 when it was pouring and it had huge puddles on it with water splashing up over the hood..

Some good rain here on 6 but nothing like downtown.

That was probably me - I took a look on 9 April. I've looked and I've looked - I can't find the photos I posted.

I had nothing better to do today, so I nipped out for another look. I've dated photos to help people compare - my opinion is we need a lot more of the wet stuff yet. The April photos were taken with my old point and shoot - was the lens dirty, or does it show how bad the air quality was back then?

Today was the first time I've seen somebody swimming. Watching him for a while, I realised he had underwater traps that he was collecting/emptying. First time I've seen a car down there on the beach as well.

NB: I've cut/enlarged some photos to try to give perspective.

Very little, but just 1" over such a vast area is pretty big.

According to ThaiMet

Hua Hin got 81mm of rain in May as opposed to average of 105

I'm sure Hin Lek Fai got more like 205 but Thai Met measures down at Soi 51/53

We are still well behind for the year to date (180mm versus 262)

One inch of rain is 100 tonnes per acre. Thailand has lots of rain.

I only discovered the "Windy" app recently but it's pretty good for weather information.

You guys getting rain over there today? Here in the east slow and steady since dawn, and just stop about 30 minutes ago. Sky still looks threatening though. We were back to the point here where the grass was cooking again, and the bushes drooping.
