Riding in a 1 horse open sleighs going to Midnight Mass full of food and booze in rural Canada, nothing like it.

The 3 wise men from the east may have been the 3 Wiseman brothers from eastern Europe.
Oy, giving stuff away?
They were giving away the Hanukkah gifts they didn't want. The gold was just plating from Egypt.

I was out and about this evening and although the two shopping centres are well bedecked, I saw no sign of the town being decorated. Even Intercontinental was quite drab compared with other years. No lights on the flyover or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe it'll all happen in the next week or so.

Yes, you're right. There's a large artificial tree on your left as you travel North out of town, and there's a small decoration that I've seen somewhere else (sorry don't remember where), but other years the street lights have been exceptional.

In previous years the lights have been up for Fathers Day, and retained through the festive period, so I don't see it happening now.
