Thailand fast-tracks Riviera Project to promote coastal provinces
Under a comprehensive Master Plan prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the provinces of Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Ranong will be upgraded under the “Thailand Riviera” scheme to tap their full potential for natural, cultural, historical, gastronomic, sports and community-based tourism.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will spearhead the marketing push of the area with the focus on generating tourism revenue for the residents, communities and local businesses in the four coastal provinces.

The Thai government and related agencies will be closely involved in all aspects of tourism management, conservation and restoration in line with the policy direction of the National Tourism Development Plan to more equitably distribute income nationwide, upgrade rural areas, provide better accessibility, and improve facilities and services for visitors.

They'd better work faster, we haven't seen a tourist down this way for at least two months. The resorts are beginning to look like a scene out of 'day of the triffids', but don't tell TAT - apparently they have counted 22 billion tourists arriving this month.

Riviera what a joke, Hua Hin authorities can't even resolve the issue of the businesses along the beach front with now a number of them closed as no one will lease. They also can't do anything about the shambles of a stalled development in front of the fisherman's jetty which now is only accessible by walking through a deserted building site.

The "tourists" could just send money and stay home.

"riviera project" is a good sounding name for ambitious goals,

but just have a look at the hua hin pier, this does not look like riviera ?

the started construction sites of halls without function, and rubble and partially demolished buildings
take it easy
