Praise for HH Police

Post by MLS »

I had pest control in to the house to do their monthly service and immediately after they’d left I realised my iPhone was missing. I tracked it using the FindMyPhone app (it was 17km away in a house one of them was staying at), the manager implored the obvious culprit (new kid who’d just started with them) to return it to me but the little sh*tweasel denied nicking it so I reported the theft to the police, though not really expecting to do anything. I was wrong - they went and got it back for me.
I haven’t pressed charges, the thief's been bollocked and sacked, the company's mortified and, most importantly for me, I have my iPhone.
FWIW, two things from this:
1) The police here showed they can sometimes be effective, and they did their job in an efficient and friendly manner, so I’m happy to balance the general negativity about them with a good news story.
2) Make sure you’ve got a tracking app on your gadget!

nice to read a positive story about the bib, I will try to recall this when I next feel myself scowling (inwardly) at them.

how thick though that the thief must be.... you've obviously tracked it, his manager knows he stole it, you know... and still he acts all innocent. Candidate for the Darwin awards !

Thick yes. Darwin award no. You have to die for one of them. :)

MLS Good for you and happy to hear some positive input on this forum about the bib, rather than the negative side we keep hearing from posters :)

We hear so many negative things because the BIB are complete crap and there is a lot of bad stuff to report on. In this case (and I'm pleased it worked out well for the OP) the police did the job they are supposed to be doing.

It's not really much to cheer about IMO.

IMO it would have been a different story on here if the HH Mib had not known prior that the phone was being tracked
