With the price of gasolene going sky high lately, are hybrid cars such as Hondy Incites (sic?) or Toyota Prius gaining popularity in Thailand?

If you compare the price of gasoline with Europe or especially the UK I think you will find that fuel is relatively cheap here even considering the average wage
Thais will continue to have a passion for their large gas guzzlers and driving in places where are not suitable to drive a motor car
Most Thais would rather live in a box on a street corner than be without a car, and the car would have to be genuine not a copy or made under license
Such a vehicle would not have any standing and they may loose face with friends, which as we all know is a big No No
