20cm x 20cm ziplock plastic bags for airport security

Post by Homer »

Found plastic bags at Tesco, Villa Market and the grocery store at the back of the old mall. Some had ziplocs, none had the right size. Anybody know who else sells these? Or if BKK airport security gives a damn? When I went through security for flight from Singapore to BKK I forgot to take the bag of liquids out of my carry on. It went through the xray and nobody said a word.

(Hope I'm not tempting fate here)

I have never put my liquids in a bag outside of the US. I travel with fairly minimal liquids anyway (A few medicines, some stink-juice, a travel sized tooth-paste) but I've never been searched. I always put them in an outside pocket of my carry-on, but that's it. I've gone this route in Germany, France, UK, Czech Republic, Russia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Qatar, Dubai, and a few others--never had an issue. I don't try it with the stormtroopers in the US, but have never had even a question about it elsewhere.

Some European airports are now strict on the quantities of liquids that you have and that they're in a sealed, clear plastic bag but I've never come across one that's actually cared about the exact size of the bag. Some airports sell them from vending machines, (for more than they're worth, like everything sold at an airport!) but I can't remember if they have them in Bangkok.

Another air travel Point

Never travel in lace-up shoes, its a pain trying to relace them and there is rarely a place to sit down--I've done it SO many times.
US airports area nightmare for me--I have a metal hip so it sets off the buzzer--NOW I am High-risk. Extra wanding, then a pat down, bags go thru Xray again and at least one opened. Easiest--Japan, I dont even set off the buzzer.

I have metal pins in my shoulder and some airports I set off, some not. Sort of like a lottery

Don't they have the xray body scanners in the US dr Mike? They would show up metal body parts!

Found the quart sized ziplocks at Tesco Lotus. Must have been out of stock when I checked before.
