Depends on how many, what the sizes are. They will come and measure the openings and give you a price quote. Go to any iron shop and they will come out to your house.

We used a glass fitting company about 300 meters past the second set of traffic lights. It's on the left if you're heading north. Cost was 220 baht per screen for your average size window. Aluminum frame available in four colors with matching colored mesh. BTW, I took my own measurements and collected and fitted the screens myself.

I also only have them on certain windows because I don't like screens, but they were the only way to stop certain people from tossing things out the window.

Can you be a little more specific about precisely where you mean? We've been quoted 10,000 THB for a set of doors for our French windows, that's more than you would pay in Europe!!

We want to get some made-up when we're over next month so any advice gratefully received.

We had a screen door fitted last week. Standard size single door was 900 baht all up.
They came and measured it, made it, came back and fitted it the following day. They also repaired a window screen that had a hole in it for 100 baht. The shop is on Petchkasem Rd between the tedsabahn and the new fish and chip shop.

We also had a quote from an iron shop for a steel door with fitted screens, 4300 baht.

JJB..........if you head north from the center of town, go past the second set of traffic lights. A short way past those lights you'll see the Hua-Hin weather station on your right. Looking for an available parking space and park your car or bike. Cross over the road and begin walking north. You won't have to go far before you see a glass shop. That's the place I'm referring to. They don't speak much English so it will help if you speak Thai or have a Thai partner. If not, just give them your address and maybe a simple map, and they will then call at your place and give you a quote.

They also do things like shower cubicles and etc. In fact, we used the same place for creating an extra bedroom for the kids. Basically just partitioned off one end of the main living room area, floor to ceiling; dark tinted glass with sliding door........all for just 18,000. A bargain if you ask me, considering the glass had to be quite thick as well.

A few years ago I have screen fitted on all the sliding doors in the living room, 3 bedrooms and kitchen, all 9 panels (each panel is one side, so if you have a double sided sliding door or french doors, that will be 2 panels)
the cost was 22,500 Bht and in subsequent years I have additional screens fitted for bathrooms and atop the atrium and back door so I can keep all the doors open for air flow. I used the shop next to the municipality building. As other poster said, they will come to your house, measure and within a few days you will have the screen all fitted and installed. They were just simple aluminum frame with net, you can choose silver or brown color.
I have visited the shop across from the weather station, next to a restaurant and video shop but they never called me back also Hua Hin Glass and they were way too expensive but the quality of the screen is much better. There is also a farlang shop that used to be near Banyan or maybe still there, I cans't remember the name something like "Finestra"? and they have very good quality frame and fancy folded accordion type net.
I think the price really depend on the frame material and the net. A friend fitted their french doors in Banyan with another shop at a much higher cost but the quality was also very good and they had to install a track as well.

The fish and chip shop is a new arrival, found on the same side of the road as the municipal offices, a few meters along if heading south.

You do need them to come out and measure though. I had about 18 windows made and I think two maybe three were exactly the same size. Some were not 100% square others were 1/8 and/or 1/4" off so don't assume they are all exactly the same. If they measure wrong it's on them, if you measure wrong it's your $ down the drain.

I asked our builder for a quote for screens, and when I arrived he had already installed them. They cost much more than has been mentioned here.

Mosquito Net Screens

Post by Winkie »

Hi All

Am adding some Mosquito Screens to my Aluminium windows. The simple hinged type and also the simple siding type that simply use the rail of the window frame.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any reference prices for windows, single doors, double doors etc... just to give me an idea of typical prices before I go hunting.

Thank you very much, in advance, for any replies
