Any work for an ex international dj in Hua Hin?

Post by frankcyberr »

Hi!

Well, i've setup shop in Hua Hin...i know..not the best place to be looking for dj activity, but i did quit the trade to seek tranquility. But hey, i kinda miss it and don't really want to travel 2 hours to spin in BKK or even Pattaya or Samui...so if anyone's looking for a dj...remember my email.

Take care

more chance of pissing in the queens handbag I should imagine but I expect Buksida will be sniffing round your MP3 collection.

got to agree with TC, its not really the up and coming nightlife hub of south east asia here so i guess work will be pretty thin on the ground. you may get the odd gig at someones birthday party though!

Well, unfortunately, i don't have mp3's...well..the mp3's i have are of my own work...but still an extensive collection....:)

As for the gigs.....i wasn't looking for work in cubs...just since there are 2 international Universities in Hua Hin and that University students do tend to love to party......does anyone throw large parties for these lads. Like open air events....or should i start looking for land rentals and speakers :)

I am old school....i don't like to spin mp3's or cd's.....i need the touch of old vinyls :)...i do have lots of friends still on the dj circuit and they do play mp3's now.....but then....how do i and all the music producers get payed for our hard and lenghty work when people just download mp3's and don't buy our albums :(

Take care,

Sounds cool

Post by frankcyberr »

Ok, sounds cool. Send me an email at frankcyberr@hotmail.com

You can also search google.com or any other internet search engines for Frank Cyberr and you'll get some info on me. Probably out of date..but still info.

I do not have any live instruments as my house is not built yet and i only have a totally digital studio at this time. So keyboards, synth modules and a computer full of crafty programs.

Just had a listen to freedom machine, not the sort of thing that'd go down with the HH crowd.Maybe if you added monotonous cowbells and some "mai kow jai" vocals they'd go for it

Hey Frank, you seem like a square peg in a round hole M8 :?

Maybe the Hilton could accommodate you for a trial evening in their pub bit - gotta start somewhere and if you get a good night and play the right stuff, could lead to a regular thing...

Thanks

Really thinks for the advice...but just got offered a contract with a 6 month tour for my next album...so 'ill get cracking.....but i'll definately look more in Bangkok if the dj nostalgia picks up again lol....

As for listening to my tracks :)...thanks..but that one was released in 1999 and was a very weird and aggressive track..i'm more ragga, house and US pop oriented today :)

Thanks again....and i've just opened a shop in the Satukan Square plaza...come by anytime...called Sapan fashion clothing...just the sign is not up yet :)...but i'm there sometimes....catch ya there

I am a DJ too and have been visiting Hua Hin for several years. I was under the impression that u needed a work permit to genuinly work in LOS as a DJ and that was virtually impossible as a Thai could do your job. Funny thing is, here in England I work predominatly in go-go bars, lapdancing clubs, so LOS is a bit like a busmans holiday. Would be interested in clarification on the work permit point if anybody has any info.
