Buying a car in Thailand

Post by Jockey »

There are a couple of Thai web sites for buying used cars. I've been on them before and they are very informative and easy to use. Trouble is I forget the URL address. Any help please?

Try these:

http://www.autos4asia.com/en_index.asp

http://www.taladrod.com/Search/TLSch.aspx

http://www.carvariety.com/carboard/index.html

I might be wrong, but I think cars seem expensive on these sites. I'd visit used car lots in HH and environs to compare real prices. I haggled the price of my car down from 210 000 to 165 000 locally.

Good luck!

Nice one! Thanks Ferang. These sites could act as a good reference to compare prices of models if buying locally. I believe the used cars on these sites are credit prices and discounts can be negotiated for cash.

You will get a discount for cash payment, just bought one myself recently after a lot of looking around. There are a few places in Hua Hin (next to Condochain, and around the two footbridges north of town) but from what I remember they were all well overpriced.

You're best off asking around and looking privately as the dealers will shaft you. Those websites Farang posted are good for getting a rough idea of price although most of them are on the high side!
