Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Hi guys the January meet up in 2011 forum members plus there family's totaled 35, which I thought was a bloody good turn out and JW's bar is a really good venue for such gathering's in my opinion although it would be good to move it around to place's like Barry's boat or the fishing lodge.
The turn out this year two months further on in the year in March , I guess some members may have gone home after spending the high season out here would be another factor, there was 13, including partners.
One member turned up early with partner but only stayed for an hour due to other commitments but really nice to meet you.
Now I had 4 PM's from members stating “ if other certain other members were attending then they would not” I never replied to those because I don't wish to be drawn into personal arguments bitching or being two faced .
I also don't discuss other forum members business or issue's with another person.
Now I love meeting people and having a beer, I have met 3, of the mods and 15, members because I am proactive.
For me the forum community go's a lot further than sitting behind a keyboard, meeting real people and making friends and making the most out of your surroundings and resources.
Some members on here that have crossed swords should man up, shake hands, agree, to disagree and have a few beers remember guy's this is for fun, I would shake any mans hand and put an issue to bed and have a beer.

Kendo is right, me and Sarge had a good chin wag, we disagreed on some points, gave each other information and it was a good, constructive and fun afternoon crack!
Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Let that stuff go. The things we have in common are much bigger than our arguments. Unless your 'enemy' is a con man or something, forget it. People disagree. It's no big deal. Even those who seem obnoxious at first glance can turn out to be good mates. There are only a few of us strangers in this strange land. Now I had 4 PM's from members stating “ if other certain other members were attending then they would not” I never replied to those because I don't wish to be drawn into personal arguments bitching or being two faced .

And Kendo, good on you for refusing to be two faced!

I agree whole heartedly with the last few posts
There are always going to be the self-opinionated few that want to hold court and nobody else's views count but they can be quietly avoided. IMO the majority of posters (including mods) I've met and chatted to are extremely interesting guys and gals and despite views may differ so what? that's what makes the world go round.
I've crossed swords a few times but always resolve differences with a beer or three and a shake of hands
Roll on the next meet up

Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
I think maybe some people here get a little to immersed in there surroundings and experiences, and Thailand is never quite how it seems so some I would say get very critical of everything and everyone I am not being persific to anyone on the forum I must add.
Now there are a few on here that have, or think they have, superior posting prowess, and yes I know I am the other end of the spectrum, but I am a real person that has a point of view and have a fairly good knowledge of LOS .
For me I enjoy HHF community and wish to meet people of all ages from all back grounds, and everyone has there own stories to tell and experiences to share and some of them for the benefit of others.

and last but not least Richard, you can't tell me getting a bunch of really nice people together with the above experience would not make for an interesting get together a real community in my opinion.

Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Opinionated
Interesting word it means the person holds an opinion
Even a person who purports to hold NO opinions must be of the opinion that he holds NO opinions
So every single person who thinks in even the smallest degree must have /hold opinions
To that end every single person that holds an opinion must therefore by definition be opinionated
What is odd about this word is that it is regarded as any person who is thus designated as opinionated is of disreputable ill thinking
What is even odder is that the person that designates another person to be opinionated is so dumb f**k stoopid as to realise that he is in fact the opinionated a***hole and NOT the person he has designated thus
Funnily enough but I have been designated as opinionated and Pms and Emails sally and tarry forth (I always get told RICHARD) saying dont bring Sarge or if Sarge is there I aint going I would not think let alone utter such a phrase on someone and to waste valuable life time sending PMs and Emails, making oneself look so small and bitchy is just way out to far in the ether for me
Obviously they must feel that THEIR Higher Opinion must be protected
Or they damn well know their opinions are fatally flawed and cannot stand up to scrutiny
I as I call myself ,a person who holds opinions until they are proven incorrect consider that avoiding me (RICHARD) means that the opinionated a***holes avoid me and that suits me fine I am happy in my own skin

Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Why pick on me Sarge? I in no way ever voiced a view to avoid you or anyone else for that matter
Opinionated
dogmatic, prejudiced, biased, arrogant, adamant, stubborn, assertive, uncompromising, single-minded, inflexible, bigoted, dictatorial, imperious, overbearing, obstinate, doctrinaire, obdurate, cocksure, pig-headed, self-assertive, bull-headed He's an opinionated man who always thinks he knows best.
Opposite
flexible, tolerant, open-minded, compromising, receptive, compliant, unbiased, dispassionate, broad-minded, unprejudiced, unbigoted
I consider myself to belong to the opposite as I'm sure many of my friends will confirm

AND
Sarge
There is a difference between opinionated and self-opinionated
self-opinionated
having an arrogantly high regard for oneself or one's own opinions.
opinionated
assertively dogmatic in one's views.

Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Are you denying sending PMs telling people not to tell Sarge a couple of years ago
after I that is ME kindly invited YOU to meetings between me and another member
That action alone blows this quote right out of the water

Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
You are talking drivel Sarge.
Have the wheels fallen off yet again Sarge? What is it this time?
I've no time for false accusations and petty bickering and I'm beginning to think that the real reason you scarpered early from the Forum meet up is you didn't want to be upstaged when the regulars arrived. We all know you like to hold centre stage. Last time that happened I had to get Buffalo Bill to turn up to quell your self-opinionated views
OVER and OUT

Re: Hua Hin Forum meet-up 10th March 2012
Just a gentle reminder to "warring factions" not to post PMs in support of whatever discussion/argument anyone might feel they have.
Thank you.
Thank you.
