I use both, and so far it seems as if they are quite equal. But I got a very good deal with NordVPN. I think 2 years for less than 80 USD I believe, and they added 2 months for free.

This morning i did several tests with Express VPN and Nord VPN to UK servers, and it seems like Nord VPN is consistently giving quicker response times and faster connection than Express VPN. But Express VPN has several servers to chose from and Nord VPN I have only automatic connection so cannot chose individual server.

Anyway it is all fairly marginal differences and both work for me almost always.

The deed is done, and I've signed up for Express. It has automatically connected me to Hong Kong (don't know if good or bad). I'm just trying my first download, and I notice it is downloading in Kbs as opposed to my usual Mbs. I've read I should be receiving good speeds, so any tips appreciated please.

Or is it just learning, and will get faster?

I connect to Singapore which gives me 3-4x faster speeds than crapola TOT in its native state. Everyone will have a different experience with it though.

Wow, I've connected to UK, and the speed is now Bs. I guess I'm doing something seriously wrong.

[Edit] It was obviously putting its running shoes on. It's now up to 3 to 4 Mbs/sec, which isn't brilliant, but I can live with it.

I use express and last night was watching the F1 on Luxembourg tv while listening to five live on the phone. Both using ExpressVPN through our TOT service, one wireless and the other wired all without any issues.
I find it easy to pick a country to use and am happy with the service I get.

Please bear with me for a couple of days, but I'm learning.

I'm trying to watch my first soap using BBC iPlayer. I am connected via UK. At the moment, this is worse than using HD Prime, quite a bit of buffering and several crashes saying I don't have enough bandwidth.

My Internet connection is usually first class. I've heard so many good things about how good the connection is, I guess I'm doing something wrong.

Not necessarily as I’ve experienced similar problems of late - you could try changing server locations - I’m currently using Uk Wembley which seems better than UK London

HaHa, as I said, I'm learning. I didn't realise there was more than 1 UK location. I've found the additional locations now.

Thank you very much Dannie Boy, I am on ITV now, but Wembley seems to have solved that one :D .

Why... WHY?! Keep away from the darkside BB - there's no need for Corrie, Cockney Square or Farmland "Ooop North"!! Go to the light.... The History Channel, Discovery, S4C ( )

I've got those to watch as well, but I need my blast of soaps as well. This VPN has opened up a whole new world of TV viewing - loving it. Wish I'd tried it years ago, especially when I think back to my HDPrime days.

I've had ExpressVPN for a while now and I am very pleased with it. In 99% of downloads I get speeds of between 15mbps to 22mbps. However, there is the occasional movie that, even though it has plenty of peers/seeds, can take hours to download. Even changing the VPN server makes no difference.
Maybe some clever person can explain why that happens.

On a side note. I remember first getting 3BB many moons ago and they were proud to advertise 500 Kbps download.
Today a speedtest on my 3BB line gives around 800 Mbps (1,600 times my first installation!) But we'll still complain if we can..... lol

Yes, my first 3BB connection was 8Mb/sec. My current AIS connection is pretty quick, but they actually downgraded me a few months back (cost was halved accordingly). Modern speeds are nice, but not essential. I can live with my current AIS speed. They've rolled me back to download speeds averaging about 8Mb/sec. I guess I could pay the extra, but I'm not in that much of a hurry.

Mr Don got my uTorrent installed on the new machine, still not as fast as qBittorrent, but I use it for familiarity reasons.

I'd guess that 8Mbps still downloads a movie in well under 5 mins so no big problem.
I'm just curious why the odd movie can take hours to download. Maybe because all the seeds/peers are in Outer Mongolia where they still use tin cans and string!
